certainly do remember them, not with real fondness though, we had a beautiful old ass'embly hall in Dorking though close to a the high street, surrounded by a lovely park with a public swimming pool opposite, plus the luxury of a KFC close by frequented by the coloured brothers and sisters who couldn't stand the "honkey" food which was prepared on an industrial scale, it also included an ice cream and donuts kiosk, they sold it and built a new place, in the middle of nowhere, cold and devoid of any character then they closed the well equipped kitchen, it was never the same , I never had the privilege of attending the new format of "special day" conventions or whatever they call them now, iPads and video presentations FFS !

Circuit Assemblies in the "Good Old Days"

i remember when they started friday night in some rented hall , as well as the two weekend days.
saturday morning was a brief session then field ministry (which only a few performed ) and sunday sessions.. in the free time around the venue we just used to hang out socialising and eyeing up the girls.

Watchtower No.3 2017 - The Four Horesmen
by pale.emperor inthis is the first time i've read through a watchtower magazine in about a year.
although i've been our only 8 months it really git me how crazy i must have sounded when i was a jw talking to non jws.. while other bible based religions talk about the 4 horsemen and back up their theories with other scriptures or historical evidence, the watchtower have taken so such steps.
1914 is thrown in there as if it's universally agreed that jesus started ruling since then.. even when i was a jw i never really understood why, if the pale horse represents jesus, why is he first?

A brother repeated a "rumor" from the platform last night.
by NikL ini seem to remember many talks and articles in the past about repeating rumors.last night before going into the book study the conductor said something to the effect, "i heard a rumor and i don't know if it's true but the rumor is that in the future we will be using only;y videos at the door.".
anyone else heard this "rumor"?.
and whats up with repeating rumors from the platform?

with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".
recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

I cant believe couple #1 lost absolulty everything? they sold their house and buisness surely they were left with a very nice nest egg indeed! all the while they were at Warwick all their needs were being paid for? what did they do with all the cash give it to the WTS? something doesn't sound right

I dont see "tithing" working at all, the apathy in the wealthy nations will only force more away, not that the middle class R&F have as much disposable cash as they like to think they have, the prospect of forcing tithing in the ultra poor third/fourth world countries is utterly preposterous, they could try and follow the Mormon model of tithing but they would really be scraping the barrel and opening themselves up to the ultimate in hypocrisy, they were so scathing over the years in condemning the so called churches of Christendom who appealed for cash in this way, so much for the old saying and prayer "if you ask I will provide!"

its clear there will be more wholesale cuts backs, their staff costs worldwide are very high indeed, but if they make more cut backs more sell offs of KH's,stopping printing,selling off assembly halls, etc they could face the possibility of fading away into complete oblivion, yet they claim to be the mouthpiece of god and who have to proclaim the kingdumb, this all costs an eye-watering fortune, its a wonderful conundrum they face, I dont really see what the long term future holds form them other than haemorrhaging more and more money, and the longer this system stays around in which it always will the more expensive it becomes for them LOL!

Finally, after almost 3 years, they want to visit with me

i have been absent for almost 2 months.
my wife was also absent as long but mostly out of chance.
