  what can I say?

  i have been lurking around here for a little while and have read just about all the folders in mostly the "friends" category and seems like if i were to tell my story it would be ...yawn....boring.

  i have read and almost cried (okay, so, i did really cry)during and after reading some of the stories of the your lives as jw's...i have laughed at most of the stories about stuff that goes on in the kh's (been there....and could relate or at least imagine).

  then i think about my own pathetic entrance, exit, entrance, exit from the organization and it (mine) seems so hum-drum.

  I attend college at Leiden University (the Netherlands) just as Rado but I follow Biology classes. I crave knowledge in general and biology encompasses so many things it was a obvious choice. I am one year from graduating as Docterandus (Master degree).

  DA, DF & Blood

  hi folks!.

  just a warning if you are df or da make sure you destroy your bloodcard.

  recently i checked my medical files at my docter's and they did (still) mention that i was a jw and refused bloodtransfusions.

Recently I checked my medical files at my docter's and they did (still) mention that I was a JW and refused bloodtransfusions. Needless to say letting that kind of information linger when it no longer applies can have crave consequences!! Make sure you check!!

  i was just skimming a book by max eastman, a disputer against stalinism in the 30s and 40s.

  some interesting things are listed in his book "stalins russia" identifying the hallmarks of the cult of stalin.... .

  Nice post again. the dubbies certainly fit the profile. I was reading a book by Terry Pratchett lately called "interesting times". it is loosly based on imperial China and while reading I found a lot of parallels with the borganization. If the dubbies would be a political party it would indeed be a Totalitarian State.

  since i am new on this forum, just thought i'd share my story.

  (though it seems typical on here) born into jw's.

  parent's nutty jw friends told them to raise children like nazi's, and not allow them to do anything, or associate with anyone other than jw kids.

  What books do they................................

  i was just thinking about the times that the witnesses ideas or point of view has changed on certain things and, well, what books/magazines are they placing these days that have got ideas in them that have changed but they are still using them.

  because otherwise, you would think they wouldnt be placing them anymore and only using the updated ones................would like examples of ones they are using but shouldnt be.

  i dare not ask my witness relatives, otherwise they'll think i want to go back to the meetings

  Try: "life how did it here, by evolution or creation". This book has been time and again debunked due to the amount of misquotations and untrustworthy cited resources. For example: this book cites the writer of "The neck of the giraffe" as a scientist, a zoologist. In reality the author is an occultist and writes about pyramid energy and laylines. In his book the neck... he atacks evolution only to pass his own theory that mystical powers caused it. look up the misquotations on the net and confront your relatives.   Watchtower "Birth of a Nation" article

  the watchtower published a controversial article in the 1920s entitled "birth of a nation.

  " this article published for the first time the belief now held by the jehovah's witnesses that god's kingdom was established in the heavens in the years 1914/18.

  does anyone know if this article is on the internet somewhere?

  Hi all,

  let's make this a dutch thread!

  Fulano, when I used to play war games on the computer like Starcraft and my parent commented on that (I already turned the sound down but there is no discuising a tank blast) I used to point to games like chess. saying hey chess is a war game too the only difference is the amount of realism but still...they left me alone after a while. I could play whatever I wanted except when we had JW visitors. (bad influence!) All the youngsters in my congregation used to play these games.

  some JW's are quite normal but others are defenitely weird even to JW standards!

  these were very helpfull quotes!

  It shows again the society predicting armageddon and advising not to take children, then turning around and claiming that "some" thought argmageddon would start but they did not as they were guided by Gods unerring spirit. time and tie again the same sad story. history repeating itself.

  It truly seems that the only thing they learn from history is that which is to come. a never ending story.
