  Wife Update...

  for those that remember my wife was attacked and nearly raped back in march.

  yesterday, was the preliminary hearing for the "alleged" attacker.

  my wife had to relive that morning in front of that bastard once again.

  Your wife certainly deserves commendation and praise for having the courage to face such a low-life predator....yet a second time.I'm sure it would have been so easy to just want to never see him again, that would be the natural inclination.But now, he got shown who the real boss was and maybe some other other creep out there will think twice before doing something like this.Other victims may very well be inspired by her actions and justice can hopefully prevail because she made him answer for his crimes.I hope will she will be able to put this behind her as much as is possible.

  Do You Care If You Hurt A JWs Feelings?

  i sometimes see what i might refer to as near hatred for jws on this site.

  that's not typical of most here.

  when we do get a witness on here, at times we beat them up, so to speak, because of the anger we might have toward those that support the religion.. i find myself even telling my mom, whom i respect very much, where the dog died and looking back, i think i sound harsh (but brutally honest).. how do you treat jehovah's witnesses at this point in your life?.

  I genuinely try to be kind and reasonable.After all, we were once where they are.As for those, who come here..it really depends on what attitude they themselves have.Some come in with all guns blazing and act is if they're God's Terminator..but most aren't like that.Most current JW's who come here are either looking for a way out or don't stick around long because their plans of conversion (turning others back to JW) quickly dissipate when they see it's not going to work.

  At times it can take a real effort to see where someone is coming from because they personally may have a great deal of inner anguish as they try to figure out what's going on with "the troof", their take on things is likley going to vacillate as they attempt to make sense of all the conflicting ideas and emotions.However, if one is obviously trying to get others to go back to the vomit and acts in a self-righteous or deceptive manner, such as "theocratic warfare"..... then all bets are off.If you wanna play with the big boys, expect to get some bruises.

  Condescending Style of the book Keep Yourselves in God's Love

  atlantis has posted a download link for the 2008 book release, "keep yourselves in god's love".

  i read a page or so from the book, and the first thing i notices is the simple language used that sounds like it is written to be read by a little child who is in elemenatary school.. the styel if very condescending and actually is insulting as if the reader is expected to have a very low level of intelligence or reading ability.. what is going on?

  why is bethel printing such material?.

  I haven't read this publication (and have no plans to) but the past few years the Society has been been making much of the literature....well ...... let's say "very simple".

  I think there's a number of reasons for this.It seems the public educational system has allowed the illiterate, or nearly so, to pass right on to graduation, so reading comprehension isn't what it used to be.It also makes it easier for little kids to read.Additionally, many of the poor or uneducated seem to be attracted to the message.An increase in those who do not speak english, or at least not well, are also becoming a larger part of the congregation and the simplified english accomodates that as well.And since the Society does not highly espouse education, depsite their supposed claims to the contrary, I think they like to keep people dumb and tell them only what they want them to know.

  How about going as Moses ? Get a nice long robe and a staff.Make sure your name badge simply says: "Moses" on it.Some might mistakenly think you're part of the drama but if they ask you can tell them you're just a bit late because Beth-Sarim was sold too early.In fact, Armageddon WOULD HAVE happened in 1975 but you couldn't get a room......and worldwide destruction requires lots of planning.The WT has been holding up the show this whole time !

  2000 have left bethel in the last 3 years

  of which 225 became special pioneers

  Thanks for the info.So approx. 89% have decided not to become Special Pioneers.I'd imagine that at least some of them have had their eyes opened as a result of this.

  In many ways it seems like the roles of God and Satan are reversed.Maybe the original writer got them mixed up and all the rest followed the error ? I can the see the scribe conversation now...

  "Bob ! Are you fnished with writing this stuff yet ?"

This one kicked these people out of the garden, increased their pain, punished their unborn children,killed nearly everything in a flood,including the innocent animals, always asks for sacrifices, told someone to kill their kid to show he was faithful, used a guy as a pawn to show he was a good servant and then after he lost all of his children and everything else he chastised him for not knowing enough,wouldn't allow another guy who led his people around for forty years into the land he promised because of a misstep even though he preaches forgiveness but he still forgave a guy who sacrificed his children in fire and led the nation in doing so, he also sacrificed his own son,commanded genocide, and plans the destruction of nearly everything on earth in the future and says he will howl in laughter when what they fear most comes !"

  Just had to laugh at Oulaw's little "Deviled Eggs" guys ! Especially, since I used to get corrected as a JW whenever I called them that.Somebody would be like: "Um...we call them "stuffed eggs".

  I will even add my own perspective to this list. I have never dealt with a more rude, callous, backstabbing, smart mouthed bunch, until I started conversing with Atheists on here. They are worse than the JW's. (if that's even possible in my book).

  Then perhaps you've been using "selective hearing" because sadly I've seen a number of believers who represent the very fruits which you mentioned....and I might add feel fully justified in doing so because they feel the "heathens" deserve it.One even said that the reason a number don't believe in God is because they're a personal failure and they just want to blame it all on God ! Nice ! I wonder if Christ, who admonished one to show mercy, pray for and forgive their "enemy", would approve of a such an attitude ?

  he is 67. he is diabetic.

  he has pneumonia and sepsis.

  the had to helicopter him from truth or consequences, nm to las cruzes during the night.

  I'm very sorry to hear this FlyingHighNow.I knew quite a few Witnesses that all they wanted to do was die.Some had extremely high blood pressure, or other problems, but were reluctant to do anything about it because they just wanted to "go to sleep and wake up in the new world".Of course, JW's aren't the only ones that feel this way but I do think the unique stress and pressure of being a Witness seriously aggravates the problem.And the course of life of unnatural denial which can lead to severe financial problems, strained relations, etc. heightens the desire for a "release".Sometimes one be so concentrated on what they hope lies ahead that they don't see what they have right now...until it's gone.To some extent, that kind of thinking has happened to nearly everyone at one time or another.The WT will suck the life right out of anyone that lets it.
