  People start over again all the time. It probably keeps the mind agile and delays senility.
  
  I too have suffered from failed expectations. But, it has taught me lessons I wouldn't have learned otherwise. It has toughened me. It has broadened my understanding of the human condition.
  
  What's the point. Some of you are quite reasonable. Others are clearly irrational. So much on this board is a matter of "spin".
  
  I will respond to reasonable argument. But if you want to "spin" it one way I'll simply "spin" it another way. It's mostly a matter of attitude. And your attitude is a personal choice.
  
  Those who may be wavering need to see the disproportionate reactions. That way the "lurkers" can see the venom in your souls.
  
  Let me also say that I am not on a crusade. I don't feel the need of rescuing any "lurkers". They are responsible for themselves, too. This has been somewhat of an experiment. It proves to me that most of you are desperate for a moving target.
  
  There may be some here who see the waste of the endless "bitch" threads but you apparently don't have courage to say anything and instead prefer to click to something else.

  There's an obvious callousness to your tone.It would seem that your "failed expectations" have done more than make you tough, it has made you unfeeling and judgmental.While there may be a few here that are "desperate for a moving target", that seems to be the case with you as well.If some have venom in their voice it's because they've been bitten by offspring of vipers.Men who see fit to rationalize even the most unethical of actions.If you want spin, they're the masters.Like the Pharisees of old, the WT declares their possessions (generously made contributions) as "corban" (a gift dedicated to God by which others could benefit) to excuse not helping others.No spin necessary on that one.

  You seem to really enjoy these "bitch threads".Could it be because you want the "wavering lurkers" to see what nasty, evil apostates reside here ? That's very helpful of you.What an interesting non-crusade.I guess the tossed out Bethelites should thank the Society for toughening them up so they won't be such whiners when they have no place to go ? Is that "bitchy" enough for ya ? As for the "smooth transition arrangement".....I believe it's called: "There's the front door."

  i started to put this in the great thread here on weirdos in your hall which i have so enjoyed, but there was a bit more story to it.

  there a pitiful little hunchback young man of about 25 that was soooooo introverted it was really sad.

  so he calls my house to speak to my elder dad, and i answer the phone.....unfortunately, at 15, i sounded a lot like my dad, and as soon as i said "hello" he blurts out...."brother oompa, i just wanted you to know i have gotten rid of all my pornography, and am going to really try to work in harmony with my prayers to stop masturbating.

Throwing people out on their ear after years of faithful service might be "ordinary" to selfish greedy corporations (and we know the Society says such "merchants" are due for destruction) but to a "godly organization" that constantly counsels that all "followers of Jehovah" must have "elevated" standards "not like those of the world", their attitude is profoundly hypocritical.Only someone with a similar attitude (read defect) would support such despicable actions.

  raymond franz was a member of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses from 1971 until may 22, 1980, and served at the organization's world headquarters for fifteen years, from 1965 until 1980. franz wrote and edited two detailed books which relate his personal experiences with the watch tower bible and tract society and fellow members of the jehovah's witness organization.. .

  after reading ray franz's books,i held him and his fellow members responsible for all the false teachings.

  i also wasn't forgiving any of them even if they found out that it wasn't the ''truth'' and left the organization.now i changed my mind.

  Yes, I suppose we all have a measure of responsibility in this area.BUT the truly important thing is, what do we do AFTER we learn it's no longer the truth ? To be fooled is one thing.To intentionally disseminate false, even harmful, information to others is another thing all together.

  The Society is fond of using the illustration of poison.You know, the one about the one drop of poison in a glass of water.Would you still drink it is the question they ask.It's supposed to represent false religious teachings.Well, one could ask the question: If you wouldn't drink it would you give it to someone else ?

  This is the point I was making before.The GB members have access to the "truth about the truth".They know what goes on behind the scenes.They know the truth behind the scandals.They know about the abuse, the ever changing policies and "predictions" that cause serious harm to the adherents of such beliefs.And yet they enforce such beliefs and guidelines with an iron fist.What ever happened to: "Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin." (James 4:17) If the "spiritual leaders" aren't having their own crisis of conscience they should be.

  "the brothers in bethel/headquarters seem very sincere and loving - what possible motive would they have in trying to deceive people, what do they get out of it?

  What possible motive ? There are many.Freedom from concern.No occupation, no mortgage/rent.Free health care, food, clothing ,travel,etc.Power and Control is a powerful motivator.Being in charge is a big attraction.If your friend wants a scripture that reflects the spirit of the GB today I suggest this one:

  "If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation." John 11:48

  Or how about this one:

  “You men already have your fill, do you? You are rich already, are you? You have begun ruling as kings without us, have you? And I wish indeed that you had begun ruling as kings, that we also might rule with you as kings.”—1 Cor. 4:8

  Just think about it.They have their own little country ! A nation of millions of followers who hang on their every word and view them as modern day kings guided by god that no one dare defy.Like a tyrannical king they hang the threat of execution (disfellowshipping) over the heads of all accused "heretics".What to wear, what to think, what to do with your time, what you can do in your bedroom,what you can have as goals...the list goes on and on.

  In my opinion these are not innocent men.Where is the courage and faithfulness to do what is right ? How long have they had to search the scriptures and their heart ? How much knowledge of abuse do they have ? How much awareness that this really isn't the "truth" with all of it's ever changing ideas ? And yet, they continue to teach others, to influence the very welfare of those who look to them while washing their hands of all responsibility without so much an apology.Instead, there is constant assurance that god is guiding them and that their actions are nothing less than god ordained.To oppose the FDS is to oppose God himself !

  Sincerity is not enough.How many suicide bombers are sincere when they strap on the explosive vest and take out innocent groups of people ? Are they not guilty regardless of how much they believe ? The exploitation of others for personal gain is nothing new.The ultimate reward for such fanatical believers is very much wrapped up in the afterlife.I guess they think it's a job worth killing for.

  they say love is what makes the world go around.............and at bethel, us "new boys" would say..... "if god created anything better then sex...............he kept it for himself!".

  how would we know?...............most of us never had it........didn't make any difference...........we talked about it...........fantasied about it...........dreamt about it..........i' m sure because we could't have it.

  that is why we gloryried it so much..... hay!

  i've put this off for a long time... primarily becuase, while i thought my story was bad, i've read so many worse and heart-rending stories here.

  i think, though, there is some therapeutic value in 'letting it all out' with others who know what 'it' was like.

  I'm very sorry you had to go through all of this and thank you for making the incredible effort of sharing it with us.Your experiences are truly heartbreaking.Normal people do not act the way your parents did/do.Such behavior is despicable to say the least.I was an elder for six years TJ and I came to see the same thing you mentioned, namely elders more concerned about their power and "prestige" instead of tender care for the sheep.Yes, there still are some good ones out there...but they're disappearing quickly.

  The organization has become (always was ?) a cover for bad behavior, those who lack integrity and compassion can hide behind the guise of being a "godly one" while carrying out the most reprehensible acts.Rules, regulations and "logistics" overshadow love, justice and mercy.After nearly twenty years I left the org over six months ago.It was a long time coming and I will not be going back.Your strength and integrity set such a good, and inspiring, example.You are a truly special person TJ, never forget that.

  i am getting away for a moment from congacs forum to talk about what i have reaserched about the blood topic.. blood is composed of a liquid called blood plasma and blood cells suspended within the plasma.

  the blood cells present in blood are red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.plasma is predominantly water containing dissolved proteins, salts and many other substances; and makes up about 55% of blood by volume.

  by far the most abundant cells in blood are red blood cells.

  Yes I will kill them all if I ask one thing and one thing only and they don't do it I would have them all killed, why not? I had told them just to praise me and love your fellow man as you love yourself. Also, I've given them more than enough time to think about this. I've given them more than two thousand days to think about this, and every corner of the earth knows this too, why shouldn't I kill them for protection of my people, for a better life for my people, for a better tomorow. I have cleared the heavens of the evil, now it is earths turn to be clence of evil! Amen!

  Well, this pretty much says it all, doesn't it ! Cold, unfeeling, merciless,self-righteous..... This sounds far more like some other "god" out there.This is nothing more than religious fanatacism and hatred.If anything, you should have said: "It's not for me to judge"...."It's not my place to make such decisions." But you had no problem coming up with an answer to that one, did you ? Out of the hearts abundance the mouth speaks... Sure, you can take a blood transfusion, it's a "personal decision", just don't be surprised when we disfellowship you and destroy all that you love....
