ive noticed a jw lady round town always looks so sad , but obviously puts a fake smile on when knocking on doors ! the only time i suffered depression in my life was when involved with jws for a few years !!!!! im very happy again now and free to be me witht being "immoral" !

were you a smiling JW?
by highdose injust recently in the past 3 years that i've been out i've noticed i'm now getting laughter and smile lines.
nothing aging but i've realised i spent the rest of my life priviously not smiling at all.
people used to say to me " smile highdose!

the people doing the shunning are "judging" the disfellowshipped one ! didnt jesus tell us not to judge so that we wont be judged also ? and what about" those without sin cast the first stone " those who do the shunning have obviously never done anything wrong before !!!!! perhaps they should check out the scriptures more instead of the watchtowers book publishing companys policies , sad !

after 40 years I guess I am being shunned
by Giordano inwell thanks to this site i have come to realize i am being shunned........i think.
i find this really funny because my wife and i were never df or da, and we walked out in the late 1960's.
and no one in the family ever shunned us.. without making too much out of it my niece has not invited us to visit and meet our new nephew.

yes my hubby was disfellowshipped years ago 15 in fact but was only told about 2 years ago to stop going to his parents house as it was "difficult " for his mother and pioneer brother and sister , his dad hasnt attended for years and was once an elder but it was him who asked my husband not to go anymore , weird ! when i wrote to them a bit of a stroppy letter , they changed minds though but the damadge was done by then and my hubby no longer is interested in them being in his life or our childs , very sad !

typical witnesses !!!
by warmasasunned ina friend of mine x jw like myself, works as a window cleaner on a road where a family of active jws live.
he watched a situation develop over a say a year were they started a bible study with a local neighbour and eventually he became a jw himself.. now this fella was a bit of a odd bod, looked odd, dressed odd, generally made people feel a little uncomfortable, but not a bad person lets use an often used phrase in england "an eccentric".. well of course he showed a little bit of interest, pherhaps he was lonely.
well of course he was really fussed over by is local jw neighbours, bible study,.

my story, would like some advice
by deservingone26 inim looking for some advice.. so i grew up as a witness was baptized when i was seventeen, which by the way i was pushed into baptizm cuse my parents kept asking me when i was and threatned to not buy me a car if i didnt get baptized.
since it was never in my heart i was never very dedicated and was disfellowshipped by nineteen i started the process of coming back but after bout four months i moved out.
i started partying alot mainly with my other disfellowshipped friends and nonactive jw frien, we were drinking alot and smoking weed but soon i started feeling the need to go back so i started up at the meetings but i got bored and went back to my old ways, this has been what i have been doing for the last five years, partying getting drunk and drugs and then stopping and going back to the meetings for a couple months, the same process for last the last almost five years.

you poor soul, there is another life out there for you without drugs etc .. there is so much i could talk to you about but im up early so cant just now , im afraid it is just a cult like so many , look up children of god , flds, jonestown , waco texas , the fellowship to name but a few ! read escape by carolynn jessop and not without my sisters (cant rem authors name !) you will identify with these women im sure , you have shown courage by just coming on this site , good luck x message me if you wish x

July 2009 Awake!
by notofthe144000 ingood day ;) i am new to the forum, and am very happy to be here (and not a jw any longer)!!
i am trying to get my hands on a july 2009 awake, which many of you know to be the one the gb blatenly showed their hypocrisy, with regard to dfing/shunning.. anywho, i know i can just go to a kh and ask for one, but i don't need the elders asking if i want to "repent" and come back....etc... what is funny is i just had two witness come to my door a few minutes ago and they asked for "spanish speaking" people.
wouldn't you think if this was the truth and they would want everyone to know, not try and be political about the spanish speaking vs. english speaking territories???.

i sent that article to my father in law who is ex elder but hasnt attended meetings for years after he asked my hubby (his disfellowshipped son) not to come to the house anymore as it made things "difficult " for his die hard wife and other jw children . he was very cross and said it wasnt talking about jehovahs witnesses ! cant reason with brainwashed folk !

i have been a witness (though only recently "conscious") for my whole life.
