Lucky SOB: Car Kabob
by leavingwt inguardrail impales suva motorist from washington state had quite a scare north of deer lodge last week when a guardrail turned his suv into a virtual shish kabob.. the driver of a chevy suburban fell asleep while driving in the eastbound lane of interstate 90 on sept. 2. his vehicle drifted off the road and collided head on with the guardrail, according to montana highway patrol sgt.
jason hildenstab.
the guardrail literally impaled the vehicle by penetrating through the engine block and exiting the rear window, just missing the driver.. "he didn't even have a scratch on him," hildenstab said about the 21-year-old driver.. the trooper said it was lucky the motorist was driving solo, because the guardrail went through the passenger seat.. "if he had a passenger with him, it would have killed him," hildenstab said.. the driver, andy dangerfield of pullman, wash., told the trooper he had left washington early that morning on his way to idaho.

Has Your WT Experience Taught You to Be Wiser?
by cameo-d indo you think your wt experience has taught you not to be so gullable?
because of the injustices and bad experiences, have you become a more discerning person?
do you find now that you ask many more questions before you "jump" into things?

My Apologies to Christians.
by AK - Jeff ini have, on occasion, pissed off many or most of the christians on this board.
i have forthrightly ridiculed you at times, but more often, i have lathered satire, or frothed sarcasm at what appeared to me to be inanely ludicrous viewpoint.. i must apologize, for i have seen the light.. i now understand that all of mankind's' plight can indeed be traced to a day in a perfect garden in iraq.
an eloquent snake overcame a naked woman with words that rang truer to her than the words of her master and god.

Was it ever in your heart?
by mamalove ini don't think it ever was in my heart, that is why i have found it relatively easy to leave and not be scared of the fear belief system.
i feel kind of bad for people here who were so immersed that they still get these weird twinges of armageddon fears, etc.
that has to be difficult to still have that looming feeling.

What do you attribute to the main reason you were able to leave and embrace new viewpoints? Is it the heart, or your desire for intellectual satisfaction and proof, lifestyle, circumstances?
I was able to leave because staying was unbearable - the lies, hypocrisy, and constraints from being truly happy.
My heart yearned to be who I was before I was bludgeoned by so-called "right-thinking". My intellect was sick of lying to itself, pretending it was The Truth, my body rebelled at being anywhere near those that knew and supported my abuser. It's all true, and any one of them would have done the trick eventually.
Love was always in my heart. Running the risk of alienating my family was the only thing that held me back. Over time, my extended family (in my generation) all jumped ship, and the rest that stayed have continued to love me.
I'm a happy guy.

As one who Moved On commented to me personally:
"I'm just tired about talking about Jehovah anymore."
Myself, I swoop in on occasion, but avoid most of the topics that are obvious flare-ups for young 'uns and diehards...

For those who saw flaws in Watchtower doctrine and left. Why do you not apply the same standard of examination to your current beliefs?
by nicolaou ini know that many left because of a lack of real love or for other personal reasons.
i would never belittle those reasons for exiting, they are as valid as any other, but if that describes your situation then perhaps this topic might not apply so much to you.. i left the watchtower because i came to realise the doctrine was flawed.
i was in my mid 30's before my mind begin waking up and i started to develop basic critical thinking abilities.

I did.
If I don't know something from first hand experience, I don't believe it.
We can have dialogues about possibilities, but I have firmly walked through the door to a happy, superstitious-free, non-brain-washed life.
"Religion: A contradiction from God."
I love BTS's response to another post: something like, "I believe because I choose to." That's honest, and IMHO the most accurate thing that's ever been said on this board on the subject.
