  So here's something crazy

  i've been on a fitness message board for several years now and throughout this time have met some nice people and so on.

  about 2 1/2 years ago, i had posted a picture of myself and my husband that was taken in brooklyn (of course during a bethel tour *vomits*) anyways, i got a private message from a fellow board member wanting to know what religion i was because she doesn't know that many people who get dressed up to merely walk around brooklyn.

  long story short, we find out we're both jw's.

  I personally think that freedom is a precious thing and leaving the JW was not achieved if you still have to hide. Let us know about the development.

  Even NEWER LIGHT on Generation doctrine???

  hello friends,.

  i heard from a "brother" whose daughter is in bethel, that his daughter told him that there will be 'new light" released in january pertaining to "adjustments in understanding" of the generation doctrine.. does anybody know what this may be about?

  or what the change might be?.

  This leads me to wonder why they did the 1995 change the way they did.

  Maybe they did not want to go directly to the explanation that Raymond Franz said they would in CoC.

  i know the end of mankind was supposed to happen in 1914 with the end of the gentile times.

  true christians were supposed to all fly to heaven.

  now i forget when fds figured out he came in 1914 instead of 1874. and when did we figure out btg was felled?

  This was influenced by the belief that the seventh millennium of human history had begun in 1873 and that a period of divine disfavor (of equal length to a former period considered to be one of favor) upon natural Israel would end in 1878. The chronology was flawed because of relying on an inaccurate rendering of Acts 13:20 in the King James Version, belief that there was a transcription error at 1 Kings 6:1, and failure to take into account Biblical synchronisms in the dating of reigns of the kings of Judah and of Israel. A clearer understanding of Biblical chronology was published in 1943, in the book “The Truth Shall Make You Free,” and it was then refined the following year in the book “The Kingdom Is at Hand,” as well as in later publications.

  I am not sure if anybody already mention that Raymond Franz already pointed out before the 1995 change that the most likely explanation the WTS would be to link "the generation" to "the annointed". He attributed this in CoC to Albert Schroeder and said that this idea was around for some time and that by means of this the generation could last forever because there were new "annointed" each year. In my German edition you find it on p.213.

  i really have never understood prayers too well or how they are answered or not.

  i really think it is more of a self-help type excercise.

  aren't there some really funny experiences in the yearbooks on prayers answered!?

  i think you have to wonder if the watchtower society has degenerated to the point where they don't.

  even bother to research the bilge they print and they just make up whatever gets them by.. what did jesus mean by "this generation"?

  I think Albert D. Schroeder was this only one raising a kid. But most GB members are married (that is after Knorr married. But Fred Franz remained a bachelor (that is not the degree).
