Great topic.
I pity..... and for those that allow me....I support.
getting through the tough steps toward real freedom from the wts involves a lot of work for some.
many, start out angry that their authentic lives were hampered by a high-control group of men posing as god's organization.
we feel robbed of something we can't quite put our finger on sometimes.
Great topic.
I pity..... and for those that allow me....I support.
james olsen and richaed wheellock both bethelites.. rich templet.
rich and james out of guilt, richard out of depression.. james and rich were both under 30 years old.. after richard wheelock (a bethel heavy) killed himself the society changed it's stand on whether suicides could be resurrectioned or not..
Great thread.
Thanks for sharing.
1. What year did the organization switch the rule on suicide?
2. What is the new rule?
I'm remember clearly, that a suicide person would not get a resurrection. That has changed?

How far is that from Atlantic City NJ?
Do you ever go to Atlantic City?
I saw the movie. I liked it.
It brought back memories, fond memories, of my time at the Hall in the 80's.
A group of us at our Hall borrowed the phrase, "I Pity The Fool !"
I did not hear the phrase, "I'm on the Jazz" in the movie.
What part of Jersey are you in?
in 5th grade my teacher asked me.
do you like cake?
i of course replied.
Zadok77,
Wow...I'm calculating you have been around the organization for 57+ years....
You, have a story. I want to hear it........in person.
Where are you located? PM me or email me at [email protected]
Let's have a piece of carrot cake, in Atlantic City New Jersey (USA) at the Hilton or Tropicana.
Be well.
ok i listening in for the meetings and will probably go to the special talk sunday, they are having it this week because of the special assembly day last weekend.. i am doing this for a very good reason but it is driving me crazy listening to this stuff.
i need to vent of else i feel i will go crazy.
it is so stupid.. ok so last night was the question box and it was about recording the public talks.
It seems anyone can record, at home, from the "Tie Line"?
Life Is To Short,
What's your angle?
If you have told your story in the past, post a link, or send it by PM, or email.
at the special assembly day they interviewed a elder who came into the truth in the early 50's he had just signed up for collage and was starting his life at the age of 18 or 19 then he learned the truth.
a elder came to him and asked why he wanted to go to collage when the system's end was so close.
he realized that the elder was right.
I gave up a 4 year college scholarship.
That's one of my hot buttons.
lady lee,.
i'm impressed witht the map that you posted 5 years ago with the location of each member.. can you provide an updated sheet?.
with the locations, i will them pm each person for their email, and compile them in an excel spread sheet.. what i want to do is get the email of each person, then when i'm in that a certain part of the country, i will send an email to those in that area, as i love "our" conversations.
Undercover,
I understand.
Aude Sapere
Thanks for the response.
Lady Lee,
The wheel chair is no problem. We can meet anywhere where your privacy and safety are assured.
Casinos (in the U.S. anway) are notorious for getting people in the door.....regardless. They are experts at extracting money from everyone.
This thread is deja vu. I used to post heavy on another board (non-religious in nature). I was following this one person. He is a master at his talents. He said 1/2 of all of the questions and posts came from me. He wrote multiple articles on my posts. He wrote a book. But when I wanted to meet him in person he refused to me. That's when I said no more "solely dedicated to posting" if I can't meet the person.
He gave me the "hook up" about 6 months ago, to become a member of a paid subscription board. His good words about me, alone, will let me subscribe without cost.
The rumor is he is a Canadian. He is succesful. I must see his skills with my own eyes.
Canada is on the list.
if scientology has narcanon, and it has gotten people off drugs (although that 85% sucess rate they say they have is suspect), and becoming a jw sorta forces you into line, would it make sense to leave someone in if they were helping them?
if you knew somebody was a drunk, sex addict, drug addict, what have you, and they were studying, and it appeared that they were actually being helped (albeit by twisted means) would you leave them be?
like, if uncle jim was a fall down drunk that ran around on his wife, then someone introduced him to the wts, and it all stopped, would you still try and expose the cult even if they were actually helping and it was working?.
Confuzzled,
Great thread.
Scottiebear7,
Thank you for your honesty.
--------------
Steve Hassan, in Combatting Cult Mind Control (I met him about 20 years ago), wrote that 5% of the people are better of in a cult than outside of it. I think the figure could be higher.
If we perceive that to be a true statement, and we can identify that group to the best of our ability, then I believe it to be "cruel and unusual punishment" to try to bring them out.
If I get someone out of the organization, and they committement suicide (or comitt crimes) because they can not cope with "my new light". I would feel so bad.
my whole freaking family is still in.
i am 5th generation and i use to have tons and tons of "friends" that are still in.
when i was little my dad was co substitute for years so we got to travel alot and meet even more jws.
cyberjesus,
Please refresh my memory....How many people, face to face, have you talk to for assistance?
mental health professional _______(2)
ex-jw ________ (5)
Meetups _________ (4)
Are my numbers correct?.............or is it 0,0,0?
I'm pulling for you but, I'm getting a little nervous.
Thanks
