What Circumstances Cause Some to Decide to Fade or Disassociate ?

this morning in seeing another poster going through this particular dilemma , i thought it would be good to open it up to open discussion to see what various situations occur in our lives that make us come to the decision to fade / or disassociate ?

everybody has different circumstances in their lives - so one size certainly doesn't fit all .

everybody has there pressure points in life they can deal with - some cannot.

I agree with Robert7: For me a number of issues caused all my beliefs to implode, but the major one was the worship of the WTS and the FDS. Every meeting, so many prayers gave more glory to the FDS than God or Jesus." I have noticed it a lot. I've been in meetings where they mention "the John class", 'the FDS", "the organization", "Jehovah's organization" dozens of times. And they mention Jesus only in 2 ocassions: The starting prayer and the end prayer... If you're still attending, just do this simple exercise: count them in a piece of paper!! :) TTRP

i'm a jw in good standing.i was born a jw.my dad was an elder for about 15 years but he stoped going to the hall about 3 years ago.but i have doubts about the org.basically i don't think that we are living in the end,i don't think the earth will ever be a paradise.it really don't seem logical to me.anyway i feel like i'm having an inner fight between what i was raised to be and what i now believe.the only reason why i still go to the meeting is because of my mom and husband.i came here because i think that everyone here can help me.

as you know, my wife woke up about a month and a half ago.

Guys: I appreciate your comments and support. It's been an "emotional rollercoaster" for me and my wife. We've been talking a lot. The Elders hasn't called us yet, but if it happens, I think that we will write a DA letter, instead of meeting with them. I'm not going to permit that my wife pass through a Judicial Comitee. It is the most degrading, self-esteem killer process that I know.

It is incredible how the WT works. A Pedophile can stay in "good standing"in the congregation, because the lack of "2 witnesses". In the other hand, a couple like us, that have dedicated all our lives to this organization, that really believe in God and want to be "real christians", then WE are "apostates", "bad associations" and all sort of terrible things... It's the worst nightmare you can imagine.

We've been praying constantly, in order to know what to do. It hurts deeply to know that we will lose our family and friends. Their love has been "conditioned".

Please, keep praying for us.

Thanks for your comments. I called my dad (also an Elder), and explained him things that only Elders know. And explained about the Pedophile settelement, and how nobody knows about it. I told him that I will send him the letters, so he can see them with his own eyes.

I also mentioned the UN fiasco, the 607 teaching, etc. I told him that I have printed evidence of everything.

The funny thing was his reaction: "I know the kind of guy you are. We raised you. If there are things that bothers your conscience, do what you have to do. Jehovah knows what is in your heart, and that's the most important thing"...

I started crying like a baby. Knowing that I'm not going to lose him, it's like the biggest relief that I can think of.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks a lot for your understanding. I love you all!

As you know, my wife woke up about a month and a half ago. Recently, by "mistake", we talked with her mother, (A hard-core believer) some details that we shouldn't at this moment. So, her reaction was the worst. "We don't love Jehovah", etc, etc, etc.... You know the drill.

There was no way to reason with her or to have a conversation with her. I've never talked with someone so fanatic and blind. It's a shame...

The problem is that this morning, my wife received a call from her dad, telling her that her mom was trying to contact our PO, to let him now that we are "apostates".

So, at this moment I'm expecting a call at any moment, for a possible JC. Keep us in your prayers, or send us good vibes.

We are going to need it...
