  "Stumbling Stones" in the congregation

  i remember a brother telling me many years ago, that he could have bought a beautiful fur coat to his wife, but he didn't want others in the congregation to be jealous.

  that was the mentality back then.

  no one wanted to be a stumbling stone.. gee, today you see acuras and expensive cars all around the kingdom hall parking lot.

  I have learned that the ones at the hall's with the biggest mouths, had the biggest everything, cars, houses etc. They were the ones who said we should not be materialistic. HYPOCRITES!

  P.S. we even knew family in Maine who told us in 1980 not to buy a house. They owned one.

  the yoga instructor passes around little sandalwood scented eye pillows, pops in a "mood music" cd, and dims the lights.

  we all sit cross legged on our slightly sticky mats.

  I took a Yoga class at college a couple of years ago....it was cool, relaxing and it was NOTHING like the JW's claimed. Apparently the JW's are against it because it requires a bit of time, time we were supposed to devote to the ministry work only.

  at least mine don't anyway.. ive been thinking of there behaviour towards me for the last few weeks, and im just so over them being my parents.

  when mike and i went to the hosp on wed night after my nan had passed away, i tried to comfort my mum, she hardly wanted me to touch her.

  i didnt even look at my dad for the first half n hour we were there.

  How can an organization that tears families apart, be of divine source? NO WAY! The WTBTS was grounded on a demonic base. No doubt about it. As long as Satan backs them up, it will remain until God trashes it and all other false religions.

  Untolerable, Unheard of and down right Unbelievable experiences

  has anyone experienced something really outrageous among the jw's that you want to share?.

  we once had a couple of jw's follow us (policeing us) as we were on our way to my (then, he's now my ex) husband's boss's home.

  his boss wanted us over for an end of the year party and didn't consider it a christmas party because he knew we didn't celebrate christmas.

  Well, what can I say to these last postings? Is it any wonder when a person is DF that they never say why? I got DF for such a stupid menial thing and when any JW's were near me after that, they looked at me with a look as if they were thinking "ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...stay away from her!" A few years later, at my place of work, a JW came walking in who I hadn't seen in a few years and after he realized I was DF, his remark was, "Well you know where I stand!" and walked right out. What a stupid organization to throw people out unjustly and have others shun you because they think the worse. Had I committed a murder, then their actions would be justified. *gofigure*

  Well what a hypocrite!

  can't believe it, i have been shunned by my hubbys family for d'aing and no other 'offence', and one of the members who i have mentioned before told me if i left they'd still speak etc and then went back on it, turns out they have been cheating with different partners(men and women) for over two years, yet only last week this person told my hubby i'd done wrong by leaving and so they couldn't associate with me!

  also she is staying with her jw best friend despite this and none of her friends are shunning her but are really pally!, if she doesn't get d'fd for this when she's admitted it could happen again i will go mad!

  sorry but i think this is such a joke, all this time and making me feel bad and this person is up to this behind her hubbys and kids backs!

  Not much difference between what I did & my Ex. The elders expected me to apologize for living in my Ex's house for a couple of weeks after our divorce and I didn't think it was wrong, so I didn't feel a need to apologize. So, they threw me out. My Ex, on the other hand, apologized just so he wouldn't get DF. What a whimp...couldn't even stand up on his own two feet and do what he really felt was right. As far as I know, he's out of the BORG now too. I don't know it officially, but either way...he hasn't been attending meetings anymore for the past year.

  Anyway, there is alot of hypocrisy going on among the JW's. Too many are getting away with things, but hey....you know what? GOD SEE'S IT ALL! We will all be judge by HIM and no one else. AMEN!

  Today is my 10th Anniversary and my birthday

  being a jw that had never celebrated a birthday i thought i would get around the system and get married on my birthday.

  today i turn 38 and celebrate my 10th anniversary.

  to top it all off, in a few days my wife and i will be having an ultrasound and finding out the sex of my first baby.

  I couldnt pass by them

  finally ran into some jw's after 10 months of being disfellowship.

  it took me by shock and storm.

  i wasnt expecting to see any that day..since i went to a wal-mart way outside my area..but dang there they were a brother with his wife i use to play basketball with!

  Your story was too funny. Sorry, I know it probably disturbed you, but one day, you'll laugh about it too. Anyway, I've done both, ignored them and said Hi. I don't have to treat them they way they treat me. Shunning is their thing, not mine. Have fun next time....be creative....let us know what you try out the next time.
