my family was just a family, my mom and dad fought and argued, my siblings and i misbehaved and got in trouble.. .
WOW...what courage. Your parents behavior was to be expected and in the end, quite unexpected. I think in the long run, things will work out exactly the way God has planned and not the way the JW's plan.

Me? I had sisters involved in these residual income companies (e.g. Shaklee, Amway, Melaluca) wanting my business just to increase their profits and when I decided, no this is not for me, they dropped me like a hot potato. I wasn't contributing to their profits. GREEDY.....that's all they were. They wanted no more to do with me after that. And at the meetings, it was only a hello, if even that. I felt DF, so when I offically was...I was ok with it....I felt that way already.

i hired an employee last year out of desperation since medical transcriptionist in this area are extremely hard to find.
this person had experience and had been employed at one place for a long time so i thought i would give this person a try.
I'm glad you acknowledged her bahavior and did what you needed to do. I once worked for a company and the owner/boss didn't give a hoot that one of the employees was habitually late every single day. It really got to us (her fellow employees). In time, the business got sold and she got trashed.
At my current job, someone just got fired 2 days ago. NOBODY....should EVER tell an owner, and a profesional Engineer at that, to tell him how to run his business. Oooops! To think they were once upon a time good friends too.

P.S. Hire someone like me. I get up at 3:30am everyday, leave at 5:00 and I am at work by 6am and love getting up that early too. The commute is ok, I pray alot during that time.

Of course now they are changing their tune now. I was among the JW's for 30 WHOLE $&ß#ÿ¿%! years and they ALWAYS forbade us from going to college. Their claim was, "As soon as you get out of high school, go into the fulltime ministry because the end is so near. No more time for school." That's BS!

he started his talk before rev.bookstudy with all the gloom and doom news and then dropped the (to me) bombshell that he reads the news on line.
yup, i could hear an intake of breath through the hall.
i can't for the life of me remember what the rest of his talk was, although he used a box of crayolas as a prop.
Reading the news on line? There is nothing wrong with that, but there are many JW's who act like the Internet is tabu. It amazes me how many things even the elders look down upon and then either do it themselves eventually or suddenly change their minds and then everything is proper and acceptable afterall. Hypocrites. We really need to be careful what we ourselves consider wrong or bad, because we are all susceptible to eventually doing whatever we claimed was wrong.

i've been lurking here for a few years on and off.
i faded from the borg seven years ago and haven't had one regret since.
the only regret i have is wasting twenty years of my life and my children's lives.
WOW.....You go girl. What an incredible story. It truly is a relief to "get out of her". I'm happy too that your children are not among this cult. My kids aren't either and I regret ever getting involved. But I have learned over the past few years that everything happens for a reason and at least we have been there and know what it's all about, giving us the edge so that we can be a source of good advice for others.
I myself am a Born Again Christian and as a JW, I have never felt the way I do now towards God. I am so much closer to Him now and have a real love for my fellow human beings, something we as JW's never had. It's the biggest blessing of all getting DF or leaving on our own accord. GRACE......yes, this is a word we never knew until now. Hallelujah!

Thanks for the link to the video. While in there, I noticed the 3 videos of the interview with the 18 yr. old Ex-JW, Nancy. WOW....what a SUPER job she did in telling it like it is. my daughter was on her way to work last week and stopped for a milkshake at a fast food restaurant.
they were caught on tape using the slop bucket they used for cleaning bathrooms etc.
to empty out the milkshake machine while they cleaned it, and then pour the milkshake mix (in the contaminated slop bucket) back into the machine.. apparently there was also a group of kids from an after school program that had a party there that same day.
Just another good reason to avoid eating out. It seems to be getting worse and worse now-a-days. I'm so sorry that she's going through that ordeal and so sorry that you yourself are worried sick, scared and hurting. I'll keep my prayers going on your daughters behalf.

last night i went to the meeting in my underwear in my dream.
what if i did go to a meeting in my underwear?
would the ministerial servants or elders do anything about it?
well....make sure they are not boxer shorts, but rather bikini briefs, then you can always say they are your swimming trunks and you just got out of the pool and was in a hurry to get to the meeting on time and didn't have time to change clothes and they should commend you for being that eager to be there. *LOLROF*
