  What the Watchtower needs to do to survive.

  drop its teaching on paradise earth.. the primary issue facing the watchtower results from it's teaching that members will never die, but live forever on this earth in paradise.

  this teaching is cause of most of the doctrinal failures, and will be its eventual demise.. the promise of never dying is one of the foremost motivations for people that join the religion, and the message of living forever in paradise is compelling.

  however, it is also the watchtower's achilles heel, as it forces false predictions of the nearness of the end.

  jesus came in 1874...and 1914...and what did he do both times?...cmon dad what were you thinking????...and hit me up if you are from anywhere near greensboro

  absolutely nothing....but i bet for the forty years in between russell gave him full credit for how he was running things...just like they do today...but why does nobody ask wtf jesus is doing or what he did for those 40 years....who the hell was running things?!?!?!?

  so if russell thought jesus was running things (invisibly of course...how conveeeeeenient) for forty years before 1914...and they still do....what were the differences in the 40 years before 1914 and all those after?.....

  and now i am so dissapointed in my oh so intelligent dad jw elder for life...how could that and pedicting the end of the world in 1914 not be a deal breaker for this third generation jw dad????

  part of me wants to just call my dad out on this stuff directly...i say i dont want them to leave because it would devastate their lives at this age to lose their entire life structure...

  i posted on fb the other day.....

  if you keep your head burried in the sand long enough...it will rot off just like every other human who has ever lived.......original....and wow can those of us who finally woke up AND walked understand this...i had to walk away or die inside

  i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.

  i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.

  maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

  i never shunned pretty much anybody when they were dfd...certainly never my son....dad says back in the day...the jewish day....children were stoned when rebelious....i was not even that....i just became a true beorean and looked hard....my dad is so logical...yet now i realize you lose the capacity to reason when you only look at one side....reasoning requires looking at all sides...all evidence.....oompa

  apologies if this has been discussed before, but i am really very interested in finding out why members here left their congregations for lives away from jw?.

  was there a "lightbulb" moment where you just woke up one day and realised that you had been brainwashed?

  or a slow realisation over time?

  i doubted since i was 19...was a fourth gen born in and wow did i have a wake up moment....did a ton of research on why the name jehovah has been added to their own bible 237 times in the new testament when to other bibles in production do that....especiacally since there are ZERO manuscripts with the name in there!!!! there is no justification for it in the first place but they claim to restore the name where the new testament is quoting from the old testament...which is wrong to do...but it is a lie!!!! there are dozens of places where it is NOT a quote...including EVER one of 12 inserts into the book of Revelation and yep that is the book that says we should not add nor delete a singe word!!! lyin hypocritical bastards!!!....they have their own bible all right....and it is full of spurious verses.....ya just dont have the right to change the bible and make it say what you want it to...

  jws have dragged the god of the old testament screaming and kicking right into the new testament....7000 times was not enough for them in the old testament....so they added 237 more jehovahs to the new testament..................................oompa

  my wise elder dad who no longer speaks to me did not even know this....nor did the other 13 elders i asked....
