as of next thursday my son will be dis-fellowshipped.
he knew it was only a matter of time; in fact imo he was deliberately doing things to get himself kicked out, like smoking in front of witness friends.
i?m not sure exactly what grounds they used, maybe smoking, maybe drinking, doesn?t matter, they make and change the rules as the go, but whatever they used, it will be announced next thursday.. he said to my wife that he knew he was going to lose every friend he had and asked her if she would now shun him too.

He said to my wife that he knew he was going to lose every friend he had and asked her if she would now shun him too. My wife actually admitted to me now that I was right all along and that he should never have been baptized because he was not mature enough to make that decision (He was baptized behind my back and over my objections).
Unlike his so-called friends I won?t reject him based on his current membership status within a publishing and real estate empire. When he is ready I?m sure we will have a lot to talk about. And when we do talk I will not only reassure him that his parents will be there for him, but I will also do my best to lay bare the truth about the organization he is now no longer a member of.

i was just surfing thefreedictionary.com and found their definition of jehovah witnesses: a protestant denomination (!?!?
protestant denomination
noun
RR you are spot on! This Frankenstein monster of a religion known today as Jehovah?s Witnesses hardly resembles what CT Russell started many years ago. The organization that exists today is largely the handiwork of a drunken, degenerate, and thankfully now very much deceased JF Rutherford.

in 1998 the wt addressed concerns where many felt like they served prison time needlessly due to refusal of alternative civilian service which upto 1996 had been considered the same as military service.
*** w98 8/15 p. 17 strengthening our confidence in gods righteousness ***feelings of having suffered needlessly.
6 in the past, some witnesses have suffered for refusing to share in an activity that their conscience now might permit.
It?s more then just scandalous, it?s downright treacherous! Not only did thousands of young men serve prison sentences needlessly, but also upon their release they carried with them the stigma of being a convicted felon. Think about it.
Just about every job application asks if you had ever been convicted of a felony, and if you answered yes, you could be pretty sure you weren?t getting the job. The gift that keeps on giving, Watchtower style.
F*&KING Watchtower!

do you remember it ?.
did you you learn anything from it?.
At 13, most kids in my area had paper routes or mowed lawns or did something similar. I was a bit different; I worked in a TV repair shop. My first real job was as an electronic technician. Yep, I was a boy working with 40+-year-old men. Needless to say some of the guys I worked with felt a bit uncomfortable having me work with them, doing essentially the same job normally done by adults. After a while they got more used to the idea of having me around and stopped trying to compete with and test the whiz-kid-freak boy.
When they realized that I was not after anyone?s job or trying to show anyone up (something I could not do anyway, as with their experience they were much better then I was, they started sharing with me some of the tricks of the trade. That was a turning point, but the real sign of full acceptance came later on. I knew I was fully accepted when at our noon lunch break one of the guys showed me the collection of girly magazines and offered me a beer.
Beer and soft porn, just what a young boy needs! That was more then 30 years ago, one of the best days of my life and I can remember it like it was yesterday!

the watchtower likes to use being jealous for jah as a theme in many of their articles.
of course we all know they are talking about being loyal to the wts and not the true god.
but i wonder if many people get confused about the general attitude of jealousy and its place in a relationship between couples.
I like what you said Maverick:
AS I see it, jealousy is a sign of insecurity and a weakness.
Lets not forget that 1 John 4:8 tells us ?God is love;? and then 1 Corinthians 13:4 says that ?love is not jealous? and then we learn in Exodus 20:5 that God is ?a jealous God.?
With that in mind, it appears Maverick that you are mature, secure, and do not contradict your own standards, something apparently foreign to the likes of the Watchtower and their god. Bravo!

by a really weird brother telling me he missed me and that jehovah missed me too!
he called me at work and i simply thanked him and just hung up.
Next time one of them calls, act all excited about the timing of their call to you. Tell them how you were just praying that very day, asking Jehovah for a simple sign that he still loved you, and that you asked him to show he still cared by providing badly needed help painting your house. The worst thing that will happen is that they won?t be calling on you again any time soon, and if you are blessed with a nice gullible drone, you just might get your house painted.

i think this is a fascinating website.
http://www.uselectionatlas.org/.
it has totals from every presidential election and maps of the electoral college.you can look up the county you lived in as a child and see how your parents as well as your friend's parents and neighbors voted.
And bush won that by taking Florida...and therein lies most of the dispute over the 2000 result.
The real truth is that Mr. Gore didn?t just lose it all in Florida; his first loss was in Tennessee! Had Al Gore just won his own home state, he would now call 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue home. I?ll bet that fact really haunts him to this day.

billions of dollars are being spent to determine if life ever existed on mars, while life on various parts of the earth fades away at an alarming rate.
it always annoys me how much taxpayer money is used on crazy or useless things while at the same time many organizations try to sqeeze the average joe for more money just to help the poor and the homeless.

Shotgun,
While I do agree governments seem exceptionally gifted at wasting large amounts of their peoples treasure, I do however also believe that the pursuit of knowledge in the form of space exploration is hardly a foolhardy endeavor. I?ll be quite open and candid with you, I?m not exactly unbiased when it comes to matters concerning NASA; I have in fact received many thousands of dollars from them during my tenure as a consultant and engineer. Of course that was years ago and I don?t own my living to them anymore. That aside, I believe that money spent on the space program is money well spent, even from a pragmatic perspective. I understand your passions and that you would like to see this money spent in what you would consider more practical ways, i.e. putting food in hungry children?s stomachs and curing their diseases. Perhaps you are unaware that the technologies developed because of the space program are in fact helping the world grow greater quantities of food and more efficiently (global mapping) and that maladies such as cancer are being detected much earlier while the disease is still treatable (non-invasive MRI body scanner).
I?ll bet most people are unaware that for the first time in their lives, several poor remote villages now have non-polluting solar powered refrigeration and phone service. Once again, this is thanks to NASA and the space program. In fact speaking of refrigeration, within the next few years you will probably see the efficiency of all new home refrigerators go up about 6 - 8% due to a NASA developed technology being incorporated. If my math is correct, that should equate to about a barrel and a half of oil per year / per refrigerator and a savings of about 48 dollars on your electric bill. Multiply that times the millions of refrigerators sold and we are talking about a reduction of oil consumption equaling millions of barrels and a savings of millions to billions of dollars on electricity.
If you would like to start saving money and oil now by incorporating this NASA technology into your existing refrigerator or freezer you can buy an add on device for about $25.00 at stores like home depot etc. Sorry I don?t have a brand name for you to shop for but often they are called ?green plugs?. Technically it is a motor power factor controller. They are very easy to install, all you need to do is buy the device, plug it into your electric outlet, and then plug your refrigerator into the device. The savings start immediately and if you live in an area with high electric rates (such as I do), the device will pay for itself in about 6 months or so and continue to save you money for years and years to come.
Again as I stated earlier, I?m not exactly unbiased when it comes to NASA or the space program in general. I admit it, I am a huge fan, and have been since I was just a kid, but at the same time I am also very much aware of the many practical contributions the space program has made to improving life on this planet for everyone.
