More Than An Ex-
by Francois inwe all spend lots of time here giving the lie to the cult known as jehovah's witnesses and their cover organization, the watchtower bible & tract society.
here, the real truth about this dangerous and divisive organization of men is revealed for all who are interested.
long before i showed up here, the jedi and other advanced members here have given unstinting support for people coming out of "the organization.

Hair-raising Tale!
by Free2Bme inlet's have some fun.did you find out some juicy gossip about a witness that you are just dying to blab?.
here's one from me.. i went to a hairdressing salon for the first time and the stylist was a camp male who never stopped chatting from the second he got his gesticulating paws on my scruffy mop.. my mum who is a devout jw was sitting reading a mag waiting for me.. next thing he's telling us about his gay male friend who is a bit down because he is having an affair with a jw.
to make things worse he is married with kids (the brother not the gay friend).. stifling my shock and trying not to look at my mum who is staring wildly and unseeingly at her mag i asked his name or address and although he didn't know the name he told us his street and district!.

Malawi/Mexico issue
by Free2Bme ini'm sure everyone is familiar with the info on mexico and malawi brought out by ray franz in crisis of conscience regarding military service plus the equally shocking info about mexico and the cultural crap.. what i was hoping (to help me open my witness mum's eyes) was some real life experiences from mexican jw's at the time who can confirm the bribing went on with the full knowledge of the society or that they were going to the meetings with no prayers and bibles used etc.. what were they told?
how did they feel about the malawi jw's being raped and murdered for not buying a card?.
any info on either of the issues that elaborates on crisis of conscience would be appreciated.my mum is shocked about both of the them and i think she just can't let herself believe it!.

1975: Much ado about nothing?
by dutyfree inmany of the senior witnesses out there, i am sure will remember the spring/summer of 1975 and the amount of excitement that was in the air surrounding the anticipation of what the new year would bring.. i have no recollection of such events as i was still in short trousers and wearing a strange cap, but anyway.... fred franz, the vice president at the time gave many talks to 000's of people about how much everyone was looking forward to 1975 and the wonderful things it would bring... without making an explicit statement as such, but the implications were all there.
these talks actually began in about 1966. the anticipation grew too much for some people and many began to heed mr franz's advice about selling their property to live out the last months on the earth in the pioneer service.
he also encouraged the young people not to pursue a career but rather to be more active in "the truth".

God's Hero
by Norm inthose who are believers and worry about meeting gods standard for moral, ethics and general behavior seem to have very little to worry about.
at least if we are to take the bible serious.
take the example of the well know hero and judge, samson.

Is the WTBTS racist?
by esther inin australia there are separate congregations for aboriginal witnesses.
the official line is that the nonwitness aboriginals are more responsive to other aboriginals.
that may be so, but that doesn't mean that they should be kept separate for meetings.

Cheeky Chatter
by Free2Bme ini was just kinda curious about something.... i've seen a few chatrooms hosted by jw's inviting interested persons to ask questions (as long as they are not too probing or you detect a distinct rise in blood pressure but thats another subject) and i just wondered if these hammer-wielding witnesses count their time and put it in their monthly report.. maybe they keep a record of curious guests and count each time they pop in for a chat as a return visit.. in these modern times is there a section on the report sheet for internet interest or cyberspace studies?.
could a e-mailing of an article count as a placement?.
oh when i think of those hours i spent pioneering in the cold and wet knocking on doors with housewives crouching behind the sofa with their hands over kids mouths.... can you imagine futuristic talks on the platform in the ministry school with instructions on effective arguments to use on pc-holders with a couple of zealous elderly sisters huddled over lap top computers with techno-terror on their faces?.

Would you forgive the shunners?
by nojw86 inif after all the years of being shunned by family , friends , would you forgive or forget them and all the misery they handed you, or maybe let them think about it for somtime before you talked to them again.
of course this can only happen freely if they left the org.
