  Baptisms decreased critical 26.9% in Mexico

  for 2011, jws in mexico had the lowest baptism number in years, a critical 26.9% decrease from 2010. something is going there!?.

  Expect to see decreases in Spanish speaking countries as visas for need-greaters are no longer being renewed and the WTBS are no longer co-signing for the visas. The growth in S. America was largely due to the number of foreigners that went there to have a greater share in the preaching work. Now that these folks have been returning to their home countries over the past year, many of the natives will stop being active. The foreigners had a big influence in converting people.

  This leaves the doors wide open for other religions. Plus the other religions build schools, clinics and provide food and clothing. The JW's don't stand a chance. And the shunning in the JW religion just doesn't go over well in countries where "family" is the foundation of everything.

  It would be interesting if this were true. It might be of one those unofficial things where it's not a written rule but if you follow it then you truly love Jehovah.

  It could be they don't have anyone that can do coarse or kinky hair (which any color or ethnic group may have and not just black people). Anyway, I remember in the late 80's Bethel put out the call for beauticians and specifically stated that they must also know how to do black hair. Because if you can do black hair then you can also do the hair of those that have a Jewish heritage, Philipinos, Malayasian and Latino hair (who are are also known to use product to straighten their hair).

  Not all black people with straight hair use chemicals to straighten their hair or have to spend forever doing their hair.

  Nothing is wrong with braids. Acceptance will vary by region, even among black JWs.

  guilt tripping isn't working!

  i had a ms come into my work today to encourage me to come back to the meetings.

  he asked me how i was doing and i smiled real big and told him i was doing wonderful!!!

  he was completely confused because i think i was supposed to be feeling bad and guilty for not going out in service and feeling like the wrath of jehovah was upon me.

  JWs have told that I'm not really happy but that Satan has fooled me into believing that I'm happy. And I've gotten the "blessed by Satan" comment as well followed by "once he uses you up, you are going to come running back to Jehovah but it will be too late."

  There you have it, you can only be happy if you are a JW.

  the question i have is, should i even bother?

  i am not even sure why he wants to watch this particular video.

  ive already seen it with my wife a few days ago and already seen how they leave a lot of details out concerning their teachings of old.

  I agree. Had someone over and they wanted to watch the video and I obliged. At the end, they asked how could I not believe this is God's organization. I basically responded with what jwfacts said in his post. The video is really about what man did and not what God did. On top of that they don't proclaim to be a channel of God. Her response was that they are doing the best the can. To me, that is not enough of a reason to have a lifelong allegiance to a religion.

  I say watch it with him but don't attempt to disprove anything. The more you do that the more he will feel like his religion is the right one. However, at the end do let him know if you are not buying any of it.
