Do you think mankind as a whole will get to meet the Third Kind in our life?
by sinis ini'm sure we have been visited by the third kind, but i am referring to a time, within our lives, where as a whole man will be visited and see them.
i know mother shipton, maya, sumerian, and others all reference a future (in all aspects similar to our modern time) when the "gods" will return and help men ascend to a new level.
personally, i don't think such an event is too far fetched..

I also believe that we have been visited and get visited often. There is a lot that those in the know cannot share because, honestly, we are not ready.
We can't count election ballots correctly, were more interested in singing competitions than social issues and most people have never visited another country or experienced another culture. It was only about 50 years ago that America was forced to accept black people as people. It took years for people to realize that AIDS could not be spread on a toilet seat. The list goes on and on...
Your average human on planet earth is just not ready. Its going to take another 100 years or so.
"But I guess I'd say if it is just us… seems like an awful waste of space"

Its great that some of you have your entire family out with you. Doubt if that will ever happen for me since some of my family members are defined by their JW membership. Although I do see a few of the others starting to crack...hehehe

I'm sure most of my family will be invited to this "zone visit". I went to one in another country years ago and thought I was going hear something special. It was just a bunch of service reports, experiences and court winnings from around the world and a special talk on what we can learn from Job.
I remember thinking that the information could have waited until the next public assembly or convention. Its was like the special day assembly...you know, there was nothing special about it.

Goofus and Gallant...haven't seen that in a while. Looks like something that could be in the new brochure released this summer at the DC.
When I saw their mags laying around, I used to toss them... now I don't, so people can see the backward articles for themselves.

I suspect this suit was filed, at least in part, as a CYA action to avoid being DF'ed: "It was the doctor's fault--I didn't want it, but he did it anyway!"
I agree. This lawsuit was a waste of time and money.

NEW RUMOR: WT ALLOWS BIRTHDAYS
by J.R.R.Watchtower ini've just read at a spanish forum for ex-jw that the wt has cooked a new light article series about social celebrations, including birthdays and aniversaries.
according to a member of this forum 'in short' the wt will let witnesses to decide by 'their bible trained conscience' either they celebrate birthdays or not.
is this rumor based in some real facts or it's just bullshit?.

I highly doubt it. Too much of an attrition risk and too much overhead for the org...
JW's are so deprived of a normal life that they will:
1. Go overboard with it. There will need to be countless articles on how to properly celebrate your birthday.
2. Bombard headquarters, COs, DOs and elders with questions about every little detail. "Is this okay?" "Is that allowed?"
3. Quickly have their eyes opened and leave. Its the strict and ridiculous rules that keep most folks with the religion.
If they do adopt bdays, I'm sure they will provide a song for JWs to sing.

Online religion. While I no longer believe in "religion" or the Bible as the word of God (who dat is?), I do stream in Joel Osteen's full morning service twice a month. He has a really good christian rock house band and always has a positive message.
If he's a prosperity preacher in eyes of some, so what...I have nothing against prosperity.
