my question is about 1 peter 1:11. the 1984 nwt omits the word "christ", beside spirit, although it occurs in the earliest manuscripts: .
11?they kept on investigating what particular season or what sort of [season] the spirit (the reference says: 2 sam 23:2 ) in them was indicating concerning christ (footnote says the spirit of christ which was in them indicated)... .
beside the word spirit, the reference quotes 2 sam 23:2, which says "the spirit of jehovah".

the bible clearly and unmistakably teaches that the lord jesus christ is jehovah god.
the cult known as "jehovah witnesses" deny that jesus is jehovah, thus revealing that they are anti-christ.. not only have the "jehovah witnesses" tampered with the context of hundreds of scriptures, but now they have brazenly moved into the bible translation field.. their reason for doing this?

it is disproven.
but let's start another thread, because this one is being yanked off track again.
creationism/evolution always deserves its own thread.

three years ago, in a 2008 post ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/162584/1/partial-translation-of-possible-sans-page ), i gave a partial translation of "the words of junzo akashi" which appear on a page created by possible-san ( http://godpresencewithin.web.fc2.com/pages/jw/akashijunzo.html ).. recently, possible-san asked "would you give me the permission which publishes your translation regarding 'junzo akashi' on my website?
" ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/221521/1/the-queer-translation-by-the-japan-branch ).
in answer to possible-san, no.

in the form of a prediction, that can be proven to truly be a prediction,i.e written before the event, and it came true ?.
it would be good not to have time wasters on this thread in the form of the common ones that are brought up to demonstrate the bible's prophetic prowess, like cyrus being named , these have been debunked already.. but does there seem to be a genuine prophecy in there somewhere ?.

many of you may know that i was brought up a witness and stayed in until the age of 42, even reaching the dizzy heights of being a congregation elder.
i was unusual in that, even as a witness i studied to degree level, on a part time basis, sponsored by my employer.
my first was in chemistry and my masters is in business administration.

to be fair, translating the bible is a huge undertaking, and in doing so, there are bound to be mistakes, or even limits to a committee's knowledge.
obviously, we cannot read the hearts of the four translators of the new world translation committee to know when they consciously or subconsciously altered renderings in to support doctrinal bias.
but more and more, i do come across things that feel askew to me.
