I wondered about that too. Whatever they have up their sleeve, you can be sure they will put quite a good spin on it to make the believers shiver in expectation of the next big thing and to correlate their desicion with the imminent start of Armageddon.

Are you a participant in, or an observer of, humanity?
by AlmostAtheist ini was talking with a coworker today about the iraq war.
she is furious about bush's invasion and occupation of another sovereign nation, and much more so over what she sees as the murders of the civilians involved.. with the same set of facts available to both of us, i found our dissimilar reactions to it interesting.
i am amused by it, and she's outraged.. we discussed why that might be the case.

Finally getting shunned...
by bluesbreaker59 inwell my family has been doing it for a while.
but i found it really strange, that i live in an area of town with many jw's and still go to all the normal places, and yet i'd not seen them... last week, walking around downtown, i spotted my "step -aunt", (step mom's side) and she put her head down, and wouldn't acknowledge me.
then i rode up the elevator with her today, same treatment, thought today she made eye contact.

Another Elder Suicide?
by still_in74 inwell it looks like a southern ontario elder just took his own life.
i cant go into details as we live in a very small world in "the truth" and even the smallest amount of detail on this one could quickly connect this to me, so for now its on the d-low.. it is a relative of a very close friend and he is godsmacked by it.
he said to me, " we sure seem to be seeing more of this lately arent we?

God must really hate me
by crazy inwell, i listened to all your advice and thought i was starting to move on, but i have just found out he has met someone else and my whole world has fallen apart again.
i haven't even told my son we have split up.
he is still waiting for him to come home from work!

I agree with purps. Throw yourself into your child for awhile. Take time off from relashionships and do some thinking and growing. And remember, happiness comes from "within", you can't depend on others to make you happy(that includes god).
