for those that know us and that have been following our jwd love story...we cannot contain the news any longer, we have known now for over two weeks but wanted to wait until we had the last early pregnancy scan to confirm everything was ok. .
today we witnessed a miracle in the making and the ultimate in creativity - the scan confirmed a strong heartbeat and considerable growth since the last scan a fortnight ago.. we are going to be parents .
gary (db74) & dawn (sirona).

if the mods feel this should be moved to 'relationships', which is clearly labeled 'sex', that's fine.
i think it more appropriately falls under 'family, teens', as i am looking for advice from parents with kids about how they plan to manage/guide their child's transformation from teen to adult.. do you still subscribe to the no-sex-before-marriage rule for your kids?
i, personally, don't.
TJ, I am sorry I killed your thread........
while going through my wallet i found an interesting item--a "community blood center" card.
as a volunteer donor i received this in the mail sometime ago.
it has my blood type, id number, and a barcode, etc.
I have a blood card too - it is a bronze coloured credit card type card with my name and blood type and donor number on it, and shows that I have donated over 10 units of blood.

Fe2O3Baby is only two, so we won't be dealing with the practical realities for a few years.
I would be absolutely appalled if he marries someone without having had a healthy sexual relationship established well before he considered that commitment, and disappointed and concerned if he hadn't had several relationships before he settled down.
I will be teaching him that his body has the capacity to enjoy and to give incredible pleasure from sex. Sex should always be happy and fun. Unwanted pregnancy, STIs and withdrawn consent aren't fun, so he should never sleep with someone who can't consent because they are too drunk. and never have sex without using barrier contraception.
It is a big subject, it isn't the kind of thing you can cover in a half hour chat. I think it is the sort of thing parents will slowly explore right from "where do babies come from?" through how we treat other people, and what they want from life.
here's the new thread - we can update this thread for a couple of weeks, then i'll start another one.
it's so nice to hear what other folks are doing, and the folks who aren't dieting or exercising as a part of this group, your input is very helpful.
i appreciate kensei and mincan for instance for their advice.
I started following the WW plan 8 weeks ago and I have lost 15lbs. I started off on 22 points, and I am now having 20 points per day. My points allowance is based on gender, height, weight and activity level. The points value of a food is calculated from calorific value and saturated fat, so it encourages a reduction in the level of saturated fat in my diet. (Fibre is not counted in the UK.)
I would like to have another baby, and I am determined that I won't be giving birth in hospital, festooned with drips and monitors. That is my main reason for losing weight - I want to get my blood pressure down so I can birth normally at home.
I have found it really easy to stick to the plan, and I think that this is 90% my mental attitude. I am pretty unique because I haven't got a slow metabolism, glands, big bones......I just ate too much. Now I don't.
im fairly new to this site & just wanted to make my presence known.
ive been away from the borg for nearly a year now (whoo hoo) without anyone noticing (so much for that brotherly luuuuuuurrvvve) been reading some of the posts & wow.

Definately credible. The Guardian is a reputable broadsheet.
This story does not seem that shocking to me. There were lots of people in the establishment on both sides of the Atlantic that were sympathetic to Nazi Germany right up to the start of the Second World War.
i knew what i wrote and have written in the past would trigger a lot of different things in a lot of different people.
sometimes the hardest thing to accept is that what someone says is usually true, even if it's just for them.. as a person grows and learns, they draw conclusions about a great many things, from who god is to what kind of car is the best ever made.
it oversimplifies things, saying it like that, but at the same time, maybe it is perfect.
I found this very interesting:

De Bono does not believe in arguments. "They are the most crude way of getting a solution," he says. "Usually in an argument, I can see the other person's point of view. It comes down to three basic things: different information, different perception and different values. Once you can see where people come from you can consider if the other person has better information and compare their values and perceptions to yours. I am willing to listen."
Different Information
Different Perception
Different Values
well it seems that the european champions of 2004 hellas it will be again in the finals.
we ended up first, with the highest points ever reached in the qualified round of euro.
for sure next summer we will rock again the foodball grounds like we did in portugal.... unfortunately england didn't make it...any way next time guys...maybe with murinio as a coach england will do better....
Mourinho surely has more sense than to take the England manager's role. Anyway, he has hardly any experience of managing English players.
you look forward to sunday mornings ........... for a sleep in.. you buy yourself something really nice and don't worry who your going to offend..
