i have never heard that before.
i always thought it was identified as russia and that the jw are just wrong.

The green book "Your will be Done" published in the late 50`s had the kotn as USSR and the kots anglo/american powers,that book said we were at the end of daniels prophecy and that those two would bring on the great tribulation,followed by armageddon

by The Almighty Homer inyes, what was the biggest lie that you can think of, that persuaded you to realize that they were not who they said they were ?.
for myself it would have to be the year they picked as the destruction of ancient jerusalem 607 bc.. i have an assumption this was done purposely to coincide correctly with making 1914 an a important pivotal date.
in human history, which by all factual evidence it was not.. unassuming and deceiving manipulation for self marketing purposes.

For me a couple (their are a few more ) was the misquotations of sources supposedly verifying their point of veiw regarding (a) Jehovah God , in the" Life how did it get here "(evolution book) where they took Carl Sagans words out of context to validate their viewpoint.Quoting partially from someones statemements and ignoring the whole article,can give a totally distorted veiw of what was intended,see" Broccas Brain" by Carl Sagan Also the many references to the dangers of higher education. Again they only focused on the negative aspects ,and not focusing on the positive aspects of higher education which far outweighted the negative effects. (they highlight what they want you to know and ignore what they don t want you to know)

a "Blood" experience...
by AwSnap ini was speaking with a lady today & found out she's been a nurse in the blood transfusion unit at our hospital for the past 15 years.
i said, "i have an off-the-wall question for you...i was having a discussion with somebody about jehovah's witnesses.
i know they're not allowed to get blood transfusions but they can get fractions, right?

The witness position is that blood , taken from any source should not be used for any purpose at all, but poured out on the ground.(full stop )Lev.17:13 But for hospitals ( blood banks) to obtain blood fractions they have to process donated blood( from any worldly source ) in a laboratory , and extract the necessary fractions, from this previously stored, donated blood, to obtain these fractions that jehovah`s witnesses can receive in clear conscience into their bodies {. In the mid 60`s I grew a beard, i was only a new publisher then,it was tolerated for a while then the po had aword in my ear to discourage me continuing with a rebellious attitude.(Ihad no such intentions) Reluctantly Idid remove my beard.many years later I grew it again,a few thousand klms apart in oz land,again it was tolerated for a time then an elder (new title) had a word in my ear that it was hippy rebelliousness ,wordly,and that it was love of self to be in front of a mirror grooming yourself every couple of days.(I let that one slide,as I was still convinced jw`s had the truth)l so again to keep my priveledges and remain a ministerial servant I buckled,ooking back I cant beleive how gullible and stupid I was.If you shave every day then aren`t you more of a #$%$%%^&^ I only groomed myself once in 3 weeks!!!!Do you remember the deception the watchtower made when they depicted jesus on a torture stake BEARDLESS????
they were thinking a picture speaks a thousand words (trying to influence bros. not to have beards) But it was a lie jesus did have a beard

Why weren't the rebellious angels destroyed?
by jabberwock innearly every living thing is drowned to death because of the badness and general mischief going on during noah's day.
why aren't the angels who materialized bodies and fathered a race of giant, violent freaks destroyed as well?.
i know that they, presumably, left their bodies just in time to escaped the flood, but that shouldn't be enough to escape the wrath of almighty god.. it's interesting that the genesis account says very little about them.

And if I can add another slant on this thread what`s the deal about the suffering of land animals and sea creatures who had no say at all in what "intelligent" humans decided to do in ignoring Gods warning???. Animals and sea creatures have devoured each other since time began ,not to mention the sickness and disease they have suffered these past centuries for no fault of their own. All living creatures down here on earth seem to be punished except the perpetrators of the crime.
