  my estranged hubby and i have a brilliant 18-year old daughter who has been working since the age of 16. she received a full academic scholarship plus numerous monetary awards for her high school achievements.

  needless to say, she's built up a nice little nest egg.. estranged hubby has always been an exceptional father.

  for instance, when baby girl needed an abacus in 3rd grade, he made one for her.

  Are You A More "Moral" Person Now Than When You Were A Witness?

  You are so right sweetstuff! Almost giving up your life and love to the wishes and feeling and desires of others causes you to lack respect for those that you feel. It is like lying to your own heart. It has taken me almost a lifetime to realize that giving of yourself to others should not include giving up on your own heart and mind. Strangely though, those who have held that as their focus for a lifetime seem to me to be very full of themselves. So I am unsure where the balance lies or how to express it concisely in words.

  HDR photography anyone? (pics inside)

  does anyone employ hdr(high dynamic range) photography in their bag of tricks?

  in a nutshell, you take several photos of the same scene but at different exposures - from dark to very light(your aperture needs to remain exactly the same).

  you then merge them together.

  amongst billions of galaxies each containing billions of stars with their families of planets, it only had to happen once - genesis.

  not by the hand of god but through sheer statistical inevitability with, perhaps, some anthropic good luck thrown in.. from that point on there was no stopping it.

  natural selection made best use of the variations that mutation threw up and billions of years later .

  I think Poppers is extraordinary but have never met her and am not influenced by others opinions. She is just on the money so much that it sorta shocks me at times!

  My morality has evolved into a place that is more comfortable with the human beings that we all are. Too high a moral value guarantees a conflict with who and what we are to an extent that it forces over reactions, both at a personal, local and wider level. So in than sense I feel that too high a moral spin on the world... - is immoral!

  I got baptised yesterday!

  it was so wonderful.

  i had to give a testimony in church.

  i kept on having to stop to take a deep breath as the tears were threatening to come pouring out into the ugly cry.
