New RBC arrangements/directives

i joined awhile back and haven't posted much - just lurking like many others.

for the past year or so i have been trying my best to fade away sooner rather than later, but the wife and most of our family have decades of involvement in this mess and well, it's difficult.

little by little i have been sowing seeds of doubt and it does seem to be working somewhat.

I'm glad to see more and more examples of this rbc crap . I've known for years that this ripoff has been going on. I know alot of people in different congretions as I have lived in this area for 45 years. I did my own research and questions on the sly. These contractors doing these remodels not only get paid , they charge outrageous prices. I have worked as a commercial construction estimator, and have many friends in the same buisness. I have done my own estimates, and had my friends look over these prices. We all agreed that these are ripoff prices. And think of all the volunteer workers these contractors use.
For all you jws still going you need to wake up and stop giving your money to make these so called brother contractors who are ripping you off rich. Any good contractor will tell you that need more that one bid , if you just have one person giving you a price you have no competion. It is like the fox guarding the hen house.

I would like to see a section on this site that deals only with this subject just to keep it going. I think that the rbc acting like a gastapo will be the actual downfall of the wts, but that is just my opinion.

I am sure there many, many more stories like these.

Oh, I forgot that they also get fed free.

The Effect of Losing Elders

losing elders in the us puts the organization into quite a dilemma.

they hate large congregations.

but can't split without enough appointed local 'enforcers'.

On youngloves comment about the elders reading the bulletin board. Same with the congregation that I go to. We have alot of elders and ms. Before the meeting they are all running around handing list, notices, or whatever it is, to each other, then during the meeting they are up and down from their seats, wandering around in back, going to each other in thier seats telling each other about something 'important', then standing around in back talking to each other. With all this important buisness going on you would think that something would get done around the place, but the cong is all screwed up. My wife has never been able to get any literature she has ordered without reordering 2 or 3 times and then they get that screwed up. We now just get someone from another cong to get it for us with no problems

Being an elder and ms is just a status symbol so they can all seem important. They tried at one time to get me to advance and I told them that I was not interested, you would think I had committed a serious sin. What I really wanted to say was I was not interested in joining their little priviledged social cluib.

A third class of jws?

i was sitting here thinking of the crazy things that the society keeps dreaming up and changing at their whim, and also reading several articles by the society and secular on the greek words hieron and naos, the outer temple and the sanctuary etc.

the society has been flip flopping on this alot.

my idea is that the society could finally admit that russell was correct in the first place, that the great crowd is also in heaven.

I was sitting here thinking of the crazy things that the society keeps dreaming up and changing at their whim, and also reading several articles by the society and secular on the greek words hieron and naos, the outer temple and the sanctuary etc. The society has been flip flopping on this alot. My idea is that the society could finally admit that russell was correct in the first place, that the great crowd is also in heaven. Then they could say that there will still be a greater crowd living on the earth. That would explain all the people that attend the memorial.

The way they could explain it, would be that those that attend all the meetings and go in field service and all the other goodie two shoe things, would be the great crowd going to heaven with the 144,000. The other even larger group of people are just the ones like the gentiles in the old testament that just came along for the ride so to speak, but are not so spiritual, these pions would be the ones that the real great crowd would rule over. This senario would really please the more sanctimonious jws, and make the foot draggers more relaxed about being a jw.

All this would take some scriptural twisting and turning but that is what the society is good at.

This way the third group could just buy the other watchtower and donat money etc. without actually exerting too much of thier lives and not feeling guilty about not doing much spiritually.

I mean who knows. It would fit in with all thier other crazy ideas. As I am writing this I have a mischevious grin on my face.

Will Armageddon Ever Come?

three years ago, the buzz was "its just around the corner".. two years ago, it was "almost at the door".. one year ago it was "at the threshold".. now the watchword is "the door of the ark is closing".. could it be that the new "members only" publications will now isolate a small inner core of this group?

what do you think will be the outcome?

what do you foresee for the jw's in one years time?

The society has said that we shouldn't just serve just because of armagedon. That is about one percent of the time, the rest of the time they say just the opposite. They always speak with a forked tounge. In the daniel book they said jws should not specualte, then they speculated the heck out the rest of the book.

so, i just saw a story on the news, young mom has breast/bone cancer.

so her friends arranged a car wash to help pay for alternative treatments,,,$1k 2x a week she needed.

oh i am so ticked.

The jws talk big on the preaching work, but ask them about the rest of those admonitions , like selling all their belongings and helping the poor. Then there is when Jesus said when they took care of the least of his they had also had done it unto him. Evidently that part does not count anymore.

offers to study after going inactive!!

i just recieved my third offer to have a bible study after being inactive for several years.

hello,, i remember where the kh is if i wanted to attend and i think after five meetings a week my whole life i know what the teachings are without having another "study".

i just found it very degrading and arrogant to assume that there must be something "wrong with me" or that i "needed help".

Tell them you would like to study the finished mystery book or other jw literarture around that time period.

Asking anyone to study again that has been in the 'truth' over 6 months is an insult to their intelligence. When they ask you that they are saying you have not been programed enough or you need to be reprogramed.

They have never asked me that. I have my Bible study library visible for all to see, dictioniaries, collection of bibles, lexicons, Writings of all historians etc. When anyone visits they just sit there and stare at the books but have never had the nerve to ask any questions about them, darn it.

Hot Peppers

i love hot peppers.

the hotter, the better.

if they burn once, ok. if they burn twice, that's good.

I grow them and eat them. Other people also grow different ones for me. I got hooked on hot peppers when I was around 12 years old in new mexico. A welder friend of my dad made a very hot chili in his shop, because his wife would not let him make it in the house, from then on hot food was my favorite. It got to the point that I don't like food unless it is hot. I have never had digestive problems from peppers. The hottest pepper I have ever grown and eaten is the red habenero. I collect pepper extract sauces, but they are definitely not fo the timid. The best thing to cool the effect of peppers is alcholic drinks, but I don't drink anymore, so anything acetic helps.

I have heard crazy stories about the bad effects of peppers, but I personally seen by friend eat one of my jalepeno peppers I grew in an area of my garden that were always extraordinaly hot, it caused him to lose his breath and actually caused a couple blisters to form on his lips. Funny, I could never get him to try another pepper of any kind after that.

Knowing more than theology students / theologians

i remember i heard this some times (but not from the platform).

it would go something like: 'oh isn't it wonderful that with the help of the organization we know more about the bible than people who study theology at university?!'.

at least with theology you learn the meaning of difficult words like "biblical litteralism" .

Up untill about 5 years ago I thought I knew a lot about the bible. Then I started actually studing the bible and realized that I didnt really know anthing about it, and most of what I did know was not even correct. I think that is true with most JWS.

i once brought up the fact to my jw that jw's were not allowed to get together informally to do any kind of 'bible' studies without the approval of the elders, gb, etc.. he said that was totally ridiculous and false, more apostate lies.

this was long ago now and i'm not sure he even remembers saying it.

Garybus. I think you have nailed it down pretty good. They are going to do a weeding out process. I think they realize they aren't going to get much larger in growth and have decided to stay status quo. To do that you would have to iliminate any people who think for themselves. Keep all the well programed robots who will keep donating their money. Soon there will be no doubt that they are a cult. They will have people who worship the WTS only.
