No - I don't think so. They are neither that interested or that clever to start such a campaign.

British Asians and Pets
by ThomasCovenant inas many are aware there is a large asian 'community' in great britain, indian, pakistani and bangladeshi.
in my line of work i have been into the homes of many but only today did it occur to me that i have never and i mean never met an asian family with pets.
am i just not aware or is it something that isn't done, in particular with the muslim 'community'.. thanks.

Your observation about British Asians is probably correct.
However, in India families do keep pets though often as a dual purpose, i.e. as guard dogs.
Also, another issue is that many Hindus are vegetarians, so carnivorous dogs can be a problem. Again, in India you can get vegetarian dog food - dogs are happy with this but cats biologically need meat.
In India almost all cats are fairly wild and rarely kept as pets. They survive off their own skills as hunters.

Remember when KH's had a piano and real singing?
by WingCommander inthe thread about got me thinking about my very early childhood, back when witnesses were allowed to be social and have get togethers.
they also had a piano in every congregation i ever attended, and an older sister would always play the kingdom melody.
there was actual singing - not mindless droning and humming.

I well remember to days of the piano!
When I was about 13 years (so that would make it 1966) we had our regular 'old time' sister who played the piano for us. However, after the meeting was over a young sister about my age (how well I remember her - my first love!) used to drag me off to watch her play the piano. She was very good and used to play classical music (not just the Kingdom songs). As far as I can remember, no one ever said a word about it.

preached throughout the whole earth ???
by Ade inhow far has their preaching gone exactly, how much "earth" is left to cover, they keep claiming here in the uk that they haven't "invaded china yet" but i know differently.
if they have covered the earth how long has it been ??.
anyone who has a little of knowledge of this i would appreciate how many years they have been preaching worldwide "literally".

No, with a few exceptions the Good News has not been preached in Pakistan, India or China. Billions of people here have never come in contact with many Christians, let alone JWs.

Building kingdom halls is an exciting past-time for those involved with them.
Totally agree that in the west zero growth means a lack of opportunities to build new halls. -

We had a little cat that lived to over 20 years old.
She was older than two of my kids and slept every night at the foot of our bed. I cried buckets when we had to have her put down - she was truely ine of our family.
I understand your loss and feelings.

Have you heard this one-the end is very close, maybe 2 years
by sspo inmy good witness friend was trying to encourage me spiritually and this is what's being speculated among the witnesses.
how long was adam alone before eve was created, well at least 31 years so far.
1975 was the end of 6000 years of man's existence.. from 1975 to 2006, it is 31 years.. when was jesus ministry over?
-
eyeslice
My! So, God creates Adam and then sentences him to 33 years solitary confinement. A perfect, testosterone fueled, man with no outlet for his sexuality. No wonder he went potty at the thought of losing Eve when she 'sinned'!

jws celebrate birthdays?!
by dobbie ini was speaking to a friend last night, trying to explain why i don't go to meetings etc,(waste of time though she just can't seem to understand my point whatever i say), anyway she said as long as i don't d'a myself she can still speak to me.
she said they only d'f you if you commit a gross sin.
i refuted this saying if they knew i didn't agree with some of the teachings, sent a fathers day card etc and you weren't sorry they'd get rid of you.

No they don't. I grew up a witness and never celebrated my parents birthdays, my brothers and sisters birthdays and later on my kids birthdays.
Birthdays are still a thing I am not quite comfortable with even with my worldly friends and work mates. Old habits die hard.
