  Have a pretty interesting story to tell.

  i am new to this site, was always told by my elder father if the site accidentally appeared on the comp screen it was satans doing.

  anyways, i am 28 y/m who had the unfortunate life of being the last of three kids to be born ins.

  my oldest sibling lasted about 8 years before she was d,f.

  Welcome to the site Dexter and I'm sorry you are going through these sad problems with your parents and I'm sorry your parents treated your sister so horribly. These people ( JW's ) are essentially mentally ill. They are under the influence of cult mind control from the WT Society and it causes them to do some very criminal things. Please know that we are here as a support for you as many of us have gone through similar abuses from JW family members.   Well Half Banana- My wife says that I like to smell different things more than most people. I do have somewhat of a stocky build 5' 8 and over 200 lbs. barrel chest, not bow legged ( I have straight Homo Sapien legs ) a somewhat " big head " in more ways than one depending on who you ask , but the facial features are all Homo Sapien, normal face, normal eyeballs, in the proper place, normal eyebrow ridges, normal nose, a strong , squarish Homo Sapien chin, I do have strong, somewhat thicker fingers, dark brunette hair and still- no genital warts - ever. Wild animals and domestic pets like me, I get along well with dogs and cats. I guess you could say I'm pretty earthy- love the mountains, prefer being outside to inside - but lots of folks prefer being outside to inside. ( I mean hey- I enjoy researching Sasquatch - right ? ) just looking for my ancient relatives I guess. Now we'll see what kind of shit this post causes ! LOL.

  According to the DNA testing service company called " 23 and Me " that tested my DNA it stated that I am 3.1 % Neanderthal ( which I sit at 98 % more Neanderthal than the rest of the planet - only 2 % of the population is more Neanderthal than me or higher than 3.1 %

  Yet surprise, surprise I've never had genital warts. LOL. Perhaps I was of the " cleaner " variety of Neanderthal tribes . Peace out, Mr. Flipper Hail Neanderthals !

  Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians, why do so many ex JW's deny this?

  jehovah's witnesses accept jesus as christ, the son of god.

  they try, in their own way, to live by his teachings and imitate him.

  they pray, read the bible and meet together regularly for worship.. i won't minimise any of the harm and damage they cause but for the life of me, i can't see how anyone can credibly deny that they are christians.. why do so many former jws have a problem with this?

  I'll give two reasons in a single post of why they aren't " Christians ".

  THEY don't allow life saving blood transfusions.

  They dont' protect children from child abuse.

  Is disassociating worth the hassle?

  i have been out now for 6 years but lately i have been giving some thought to da.

  i just kind of feel that chapter in my life is still open and for some reason i feel like da'ing might close that chapter but i'm not entirely sure.

  im not df either, when i left i basically faded and disappeared.

  HERELGO- I think it's different for different folks depending on each person's situation. I haven't disassociated because I have an adult JW daughter and a grandson in the mix who I wouldn't be able to have any contact with if I DAed myself.

  That being said - if you don't have ANY relatives or friends who are JW's and you no longer keep in contact with them anyway- I feel a person could disassociate. But like Blues Brother said - if the elders are leaving you alone anyway and not bothering you- it might be unwise to put yourself back on their radar after being out 6 years anyway. There's no reason to give these clowns any more power over us or there's no reason to play by their rules and definitions of contact if we don't have to. So it's a personal decision. I always had so much shit thrown on me from the elders in 44 years in the cult- I just don't want any more hassles in my life. I prefer peace of mind. Hope that gives you some things to consider.   Another "good" elder might be getting the axe....

  so our congregation is full of hardliner elders, 3 of them, who are not gentle, kind or loving.. people have either moved away or quit trying because one elder inparticular was going to drive them crazy with all his rules and nit picking and being righteous over much.

  (and he is pissed that he hasn't been accepted to the school.

  hmmm, i wonder why!).

  Because WT leaders WANT the jerk elders to rule the congregations to keep rank & file JW's in line. WT leaders do NOT care about " kindness ", " love ", or " compassion " . They only care about obedience , being rigid, and not respecting personal boundaries of JW's. So these days - kind elders who show love get left in the dust and are a minority- sadly. This is a criminal organization run by criminals- should we expect them to do the RIGHT thing ? Not going to happen

  i discovered your website this morning as i was trying to find some information about 'marking'.

  you see a very close friend of mine was 'marked' earlier this week and as i know the ins and outs of the situation (as we are close friends) i disregarded the talk immediately as i know my friend is obviously having issues but is no way a 'danger' to anybody else's spiritual health.

  basically they are dating a non-believer- hence the talk.

  Danni- There is a lot of judgmental attitudes and hypocrisy within the Jehovah's Witness organization and you are just skimming the surface and seeing it for the first time. These attitudes start at the top with the governing body. Google on the Internet " Gilbert Campos Child abuse trial San Diego California " and you'll see how WT leaders have been hiding child abuse information from the courts and are being penalized by the courts for refusing to testify and supply needed child abuse information. You are sadly in a criminal organization and the sooner you research this and wake up to that fact- the sooner you'll be able to move on in your life and find real happiness.   Struggling a bit, guess it's to be expected...........

  throughout this process since my wife and i disassociated just over a year ago i've been pretty positive.

  focusing on my new life, new friends, having fun, and living a good life.

  it's been great.

  Dubstepped- Hang in there buddy. I was born and raised in the JW's got out 13 years ago in 2003 at age 44 finally. It's not an easy process moving on, but what you're feeling is totally normal for what we all went through with the mind control and indoctrination that the WT Society drilled into our brains.

  It gets better I promise you. The more time goes by without being at those insane meetings and the further you get away from the indoctrination our PTSD will improve. With time you'll be able to pick up hobbies and enjoyable life activities that will assist you in moving on from the cult. I took up guitar playing and songwriting over 5 years ago and it's been a huge help in my healing experience. So much emotional power and healing forces within music.

  As time goes by hanging out with non- JW's and ex-JW's who are supportive you will gradually find activities that will help you heal from within, but emphasis on gradually. Don't pressure yourself to feel guilty about the way you feel- how you feel is natural as many of us felt as well. With time the JW cult will have less and less of an impact on your inner psyche and your life will be re-filled with positive activities that bring you happier and better memories. Give yourself time, be your own best friend. We were all taught as JW's to " hate " ourselves or not value our authentic selves and we had low self esteem. It takes time to rebuild that self esteem back up again. You'll do fine, you'll make it my friend. You're a cool guy and I for one really enjoy your contributions to this board. Please know you have friends here as a support and I offer my friendship as well. Take care, any time you'd like to chat, I'm always here, O.K. ? Been there, experienced this stuff myself.
