let me preface this by saying, i don't know if mr. cosby is guilty of all that he's being accused of.

the number of women coming out against him is pretty damning, but no real proof has been offered (that i'm aware of anyway).

and it is this circumstantial, hearsay evidence that can actually play into the hands of someone trying to get a jw to grasp the seriousness of the child abuse claims in the jw religion.. how so?.

UNDERCOVER- I like your idea. It's certainly worth a try as not much else seems to open JW's eyes to the realness of WT child abuse going on. It's a good way to employ Steve Hassan's methods to get Witnesses to think. Thanks for the idea- I'm going to try it next time I talk with a JW

yes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.

i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.

the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

SIMON- Thank you very much for this board from the deepest recesses of my mind. Having been a born and raised in JW from birth who exited 11 years ago at age 44 - when I came on board here 8 years ago - I never imagined all the things I would learn about the unethical practices of the WT Society. Not only by reading Ray Franz, Steve Hassan's and others books about mind control cults- but by reading others journeys and experiences this board continues to not only educate me- but many other newly exiting JW's who need a soft place to land in starting life again. Thanks so much my friend for supplying this format. It's helped thousands of more people than even you are aware of. Keep up the great work. Freedom of mind for people is worth it

NEWLY ENLIGHTENED- Thanks for posting this. This speaker in the you tube was just disgusting. So was the robotic mind controlled audience for laughing . At the end the speaker says about apostates revealing child abuse, " we must resist these people with all our might. " And earlier he says, " we have our way of dealing with it " ( child abuse ) . What a freaking moron. I tell you what- the Bible was right in one scripture : " foolishness HAS been put in many high positions ". Message to this speaker : We ex-JW's will NOT shut up, we will NOT remain quiet about the criminal conduct of your crazy , insane organization and WT leaders crimes. Be prepared. We are here. We see. these excerpts i'm sharing with you are from the july 1st, 1989 letter from the wt society to the elders and it gives outsiders a good idea of the attitude of the wt society leaders towards child abuse victims and even towards their own appointed elders.

and it shows wt society is first, foremost, and mainly concerned about financial fallout from potential lawsuits.

one short quote was used from this letter on the abc news nightline report about candace conti - but what i'm going to share with you will be other excerpts from that same letter that are just as, or even more revealing.

NEVER AJW- Very good catch there in that article from 1995. Wow. Telling elders to " be content to let the matter drop " regarding child abuse ? Wow, just wow. And this jewel, " Or perhaps the accused one will confess, and a RECONCILIATION may be achieved. What a blessing THAT would be ! " Unbelievable.

Yeah, to the WT society it would be a blessing if reconciliation happened between abusers and victims- they wouldn't get stuck paying out millions $$$ in child abuse lawsuits ! But it shows just HOW out of touch the GB and WT leaders are with reality in the real world to think a reconciliation could happen between child abuse victims and their molesters. LIFE IS TOO SHORT- " they make Susan and me look good. " And THAT is what's important to WT leaders - looking GOOD to rank & file JW's and outsiders. It's all about appearance only. Morris is showing a fake humility to appear that his kids made him look good. And as OTWO stated it's passive aggressive behavior insinuating other JW parents should do as well as HE and his wife did raising kids then other people's kids would be " holy " like his. XANTHIPPE- I agree completely with you. WT leaders ARE despicable in their deploring and putting down people's " Rights " by insinuating those " rights " are something that they don't deserve. Like you state- we are living in the 21st century for Christ's sakes and people throughout history have fought for freedom, justice, and equality between humans - and for the WT Society to put into writing that alleged " rights " are something to be minimized or avoided means that WT leaders are no different than the 19th century slave owners in this country who stole the freedom away and abused the African -American race or how the United States abused the Native American race of people .

By enslaving people's minds in bondage to unrealities and then throwing their children under the bus by protecting pedophiles within their congregations the leaders of this WT organization have indeed become slave owners who have no real human empathy for victims of child abuse at all. They are right on par with slave owners and abusive U.S. Cavalry in the 19th century. Good post Xanthippe- I agree completely with you.

4THGEN- Thanks, it's an important topic that needs to be emphasized. I'm going to try to expose this as much as I can. I know like you stated - me being raised up from birth as a JW and finally exiting 11 years ago at age 44 - I felt I was being raised in a " safe haven " - but when I exited and discovered all the criminal child abuse going on and being hidden - I felt like you, used to promote false illusions for the WT Society. It made ME feel dirty for awhile until I realized that it wasn't MY fault we were ALL duped by a criminal organization posing as a nice religion. WT Society is really an evil organization masquerading as an allegedly " respectable " organization- and that makes them even MORE dangerous because they hide their crimes so well. But a new day is dawning and they can hide no more. WT crimes are getting exposed more each year

I'm the one who needs to "come to his senses" ?????

i was in conversation a few weeks back with a jw i have known for at least four decades.

most of it was catching up on family stuff, he has loads of kids, some have married and produced sprogs since i left.

all news to me.. i demolished a couple of his fatuous arguments, and then he decided to scuttle away, throwing this over his shoulder as he went :.

PHIZZY- It is incredible the JW's views that they have truly. Most of my still inside JW family - except for my mom- look at ME as the one who needs to get my " head screwed on straight " - they won't even accept or even sniff at the idea that THEY are deluded.

I think you should have said what you wanted to say to him. Not a matter of being nice- ( you can talk to him in a firm, but polite way ) it's a matter of being straight up and honest towards him telling him what he needs to know as opposed to what he WANTS to know. I did that in a conversation with my mom the other day when she said my JW daughter who is 28 told my mom that . " I hope my dad starts going back to meetings and comes back to the " truth ". " I explained to my JW mom that I'm IN the " truth " . That I'm a very truthful person. In fact I'm more truthful now in my life 11 years removed from being a JW than I've EVER been in my life ! I'm very honest and truthful and real in my dealings with others. " She agreed once I told her that- but JW's are conditioned to think WE are all " mentally diseased " and I feel that we can show them differently when they challenge that. Whether they accept what we say is up to them- but I won't allow myself to be insulted from them face to face anymore. I will call them on their disrespect. But I do it in a way that leaves their dignity intact
