Hello
by Jules Saturn inhello, i've been lurking for quite some time here on this forum, reading a whole lot and i've finally made the courage to create an account as a form of escape and in hopes to be understood and not feel "mentally diseased".
little background on me, i am a born in but i consider myself a pimo (physically in mentally out).
i feel like i've always had doubts but these doubts would sink with the meetings and the assemblies and every other little thing that drowns any doubts a witness may have.

Hey Jules- Welcome to the forum ! I know it's hard right now, but in time it will get easier. Sometimes we've got to go through a little hell to gain our freedom of mind. Your family is suffering an actual psychological , mental condition called " dissociative disorder " which occurs in many members of high control, mind control organizations like Scientology, Mormonism, and Jehovah's Witnesses. In other words- they cannot see " the forest through the trees " of what YOU are seeing right now due to their minds being totally manipulated and controlled by WT Society indoctrination tactics.
Some books that really assisted me when I exited the Witnesses about 14 years ago were Steve Hassan's books on cult mind control . One of the books is called " Releasing the Bonds- Empowering People to Think for Themselves " and a couple other books which helped me to understand HOW the WT Society was able to control my mind and the minds of others I knew. Then we start seeing these JW's as " captives of a concept " WT concept that is and how dangerous mind control tactics are when used by leaders of high control organizations like the WT Society and the others I mentioned. Then we begin to understand what prevents our JW friends and relatives from seeing the light like we do who have exited. Anyway Steve Hassan's website is : www.freedomofmind.com.
I wish you the best and we are here as a support to you and offer our unconditional friendship indeed. Hang in there friend, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Call for investigation into JW child abuse in the Netherlands
by Anders Andersen inafter yesterday's newspaper articles about how jw (mis)handle child abuse cases, today the newspaper reports that both members of the national house of representatives, and the national commissioner on human trafficking and sexual violence against children are petitioning the minister / secretary of state to launch an investigation into jw and other closed religious communities.. the newspaper article (in dutch).
the newspaper also published the personal story of a victim, and how he fought for justice within jw to no avail.this story is from my home town (just few years before i move there), different congregation in the same hall..

This organization needs to be exposed worldwide for it's horrid child abuse policies. Period. Exclamation point ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Is true religion all about being serious?
by venus inamidst of many barriers such as no birthday celebration, no blood transfusion, no voting, no political career, no military service, no national anthem, no higher studies ….. i felt handicapped.
isn’t seriousness of the ego and joyfulness of egolessness?
isn’t true religion all about a celebration of life?

Jehovah's people are not happy people
by Phoebe ini finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.
i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.
i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.

I agree with Anon's statement, " one reason they are so mean spirited is in part due to their own unhappiness. Seeing other people happy, ....... seems to eat away at them . "
This is SOOO true. What's the old expression ? Misery loves company ? I believe it's not just that the JW cult mind control over them turns them into control freaks themselves - but just seeing US EX-JW's enjoying life absolutely causes them anguish because it makes them question the validity of their beliefs ! They are told that they are " a people for special possession, that Jehovah's people and organization are happy " so if they aren't " happy " then they think they're doing something wrong. Or it causes them to doubt or ponder things within. Then they feel MORE guilty for doing that !
My extended JW family cannot understand how I can be so happy in my own life and I simply tell them I have a lot to be happy for. The love I share with friends & family. It's a concept that's foreign to them because they are taught to NOT open their hearts to any non-JW's
