Can you live with your self?

i think if we are to fully delight in life we must live without detachment.

because when we become attached to a beliief we feel a desire that we are right.

the problem with being right, even if we are right is that our beliefs then try to attach themselfs to virgin snow, and change people to our thinking.

I am what I am ( like Popeye used to say ) so I have no choice but to live with myself- unless I take my own life- which I do not desire to do as I enjoy living and enjoy the life I have had post -JW experience with freedom of mind.

I've pretty much shed the JW skin I had when I was more judgmental towards people having been influenced by the WT Society rhetoric and prejudiced views of life. AS Simon stated I try now in my life to be really much more open minded towards other views while still keeping my personal values and personal identity. I'm not a big " group view " type of person- more of an individualist or rogue who considers group opinions - but doesn't join big organizations anymore as I form my own thoughts. I listen and access views- but at the end of the day I have to be happy with what I accept personally within myself. That's the difference now I feel in NOT being controlled by group-think such as WT Society views.

I try to be accepting of people as I hope they are accepting of me. If they aren't - I just move on to more accepting folks who I can communicate with. take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

TV commercial seen in the United States, from a Law firm "Asking if you were ever sexually abused by JEHOVAHS WITNESSES, please call".

ok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.

if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.

however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

DUNEDAIN- Thanks for posting this. This will get even bigger if the " E "cable channel broadcasts all across the United States . Come to think of it- the " E " channel DOES broadcast across the United states- doesn't it ? Has anybody else here seen these commercials in the other 49 states being broadcast yet - other than just in the state of New York ? I'm curious- let us know folks if you see this commercial running in the other U.S . states. This could get MUCH bigger than we think

Some powerful stuff against the WT

trying to explain away the results and minimizing the damages.

what he has failed to understand is that the society had and still does have certain policies in place that hide the sexual abuse of minors.

GIORDANO- Thanks for taking the time to start this thread and enumerate in detail for lurking JW's or newer board members who need to be brought up to speed as to the depth and extent of the child abuse crimes within the WT Society and Jehovah's Witnesses. Very good thread, please read it and research everybody. This thread is accurate and tells the real truth of what's going on inside the WT Society. Thanks again Gio

Are baptized Witnesses that are no longer in the "truth", but were NEVER DF'D, now to be shunned and treated like disfellowshipped ones?

a relative of mine was telling me, that in his, and a few neighboring congregations, there is a little confusion amongst some of the jw's about this "issue".

some families are having a hard time about whether certain relatives will be attending certain family functions, because some family members that are no longer in the "truth", might be invited to these functions.

mind you, these persons were never disfellowshipped.

COBWEB- Thanks for the copy of the convention outline you posted, it really helps me to understand HOW some of my staunch JW relatives misinterpret this information and take it to extremes. Let me explain :

In the part you posted where it states , " Loyal Christians would not associate with " anyone called a brother " who is practicing serious sin. This is true even if no congregation action has been taken, AS MAY BE THE CASE WITH AN INACTIVE ONE. " I capitalized that part because JW's are ALWAYS through mind control OPEN to WT Society suggestion. Instead of the outline saying " as may be the case with an inactive one " - they might as well just said, " which is USUALLY THE CASE WITH AN INACTIVE ONE. " Because it means the SAME thing in a fanatic JW's mind !

The WT Society by manipulation and power of suggestion is alluding or planting the thought in JW's minds that ALL inactive ones MAY be sinning and in fact probably are- thus they should be shunned. That message will implant itself in each and every JW's brain due to the inference of " guilt " that inactive ones should be feeling ( in their opinion ) and that as a natural progression of that thought inactive JW's " MAY " be sinning which turns into " PROBABLY " they are sinning which becomes " USUALLY" which then finishes as they " ARE " sinning . When WT Society states that " it MAY be the case " that inactive ones are sinning it REALLY means " We the GB and WT leaders KNOW that inactive ones are sinning so you need to shun them . "

I guarantee you that this information gets logged into JW's minds like I just wrote. At least it DOES get implanted in my staunch JW extended families minds like that- I guarantee it does. Anybody else have a thought on that ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

BREAKFAST- Thanks for posting this. I hope that a good number of JW victims of child abuse and their families take advantage of these lawyers services. WT child abuse needs to be stopped dead in it's tracks. This has happened for way too long now. It's time for the financial roosters to come home to roost and financially shit on this criminal WT organization

I can only speak from my own experience as an ex-JW who has been considered " inactive " for about 14 years now. Most of my devout JW extended family still in the cult DO shun me and never call me or have anything to do with me. They will take a " timeout " from that treatment like at funerals for relatives- but after my mom died it's gone back to the " same old, same old " of shunning me again. I think they view being polite at funerals as " necessary family business " - so beyond that they get back to shunning you and treating you like a piece of poop.

So yeah, something's in the wind here and I think Stuckinarut hit it on the head - the GB is paranoid and running scared and the paranoia is seeping down from the highest levels of the WT Society into the rank & file JW's

ARC Analysis Summary of Case Files

i find it interesting on the case file analysis some of the findings.

it looks like queensland and new south wales had the biggest problems with this.

Really ? Come on now. That's 50 elders and MS's too many ! Don't you think Richard that if the WT Society had done their due diligence and made it a policy to do mandatory BACKGROUND checks on these prospective elders and MS's - that those 50 elders and MS's would have never had the CHANCE or OPPORUNITY to molest and abuse children ?

WT Society GB and it's leaders are the main people here through their faulty child abuse policies that are responsible for the thousands of cases of criminal child abuse worldwide within the Jehovah's Witness organization. To see it otherwise is absolutely ignoring the facts of the matter
