This is just insanity with the old patriarchal bat-$hit crazy view of women. It's ridiculous. WT leaders are so weird -

You , dear reader , may wonder why........ I just don't do a rain dance like our Native brethren did in the days of old from the romantic wagon train times of dusty, worn out trails from gold seekers scurrying out west to discover that precious yellow metal that brought extinction to our Native American Brethren - you ask ?
You ask ? Because if it didn't save our dear Native brothers and sisters , it's sure as hell isn't going to bring any rain either. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Shutting down the Judicial Committee "invite".

what are the sure fire, tested and true tactics that will keep the elders off your back?

CONFUZZLED- I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of that stress at those judicial meetings. It's hard for people to understand just HOW stressful those meetings are unless you've been in them being victimized like us. I know in the 9 months of harassment I received from elders I had to go on blood pressure medicine as it was stressing the hell out of me. I understand how stressful that must have been for you having to go on anti-anxiety meds just to go to meetings. I hope your life has calmed down now that you don't attend anymore. These elders don't realize just how much stress they put on people's personal lives by being so intrusive and nosy. Good luck to you- I wish you well my friend -

As I looked at this link and the article it showed the picture of Kelly Richards at the top of the article, but it shows the picture of another woman in two pictures in the middle of the page being escorted by a man into a car. Is THIS the same woman as the top of the page ? If it is my eyes are doing tricks on me ! The woman at the top looks nothing like the woman with the man in the middle of the article .
That being said- If this lady was having an argument with her husband and needed to vent why didn't she just go down to a pub and strike up a conversation with an adult man - instead of abusing and controlling a minor boy ? She needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Peace out, Mr. flipper

Which should be shared with an active JW sexual abuse survivor?
by Illuminated inthis is involving a loved one who's a survivor of child sexual abuse who's life has been ripped apart by the wts.. i'll reword "survivor" to victim as he has gone in and out several times and is in currently.
the offender is still a good standing jw yet in a different congregation.he was disfellowshipped in his teens by the way, so it's harmed him even more psychologically.
which will have more of an impact in helping him realize the issue is coming from the top where they are intentionally hiding it?.

ILLUMINATED- Good thread. Thanks for providing those links ! I feel the ABC Nightline and PBS Newhour links were really great to show people the lack of responsibility from WT leaders as it showed how irresponsible the elders and WT representatives were on the witness stands in court with actual video footage of their testimonies.
As you and I have chatted on the phone- I feel if you showed him excerpts from the October 2012 confidential WT Society letter to the elders about how they DO appoint former child molesters as elders or ministerial servants - it's right there in writing in instructions from WT leaders to elders - it will show him how irresponsible WT leaders are. As opposed to the information given out in a 1997 WT where all the rank & file JW's read that child molesters are never appointed as elders or ministerial servants. So it shows the GB and WT leaders lie to the rank & file JW's and give OTHER instructions to elders in secret communications which most every JW will never read or hear about. I feel this may have an impact if you show him. If he's open enough to accept it. Good luck to you ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Dating After Leaving?
by Garrett inhey guys,.
this is going to be a topic of a different nature.
so, while i am not looking to date at the current moment since i'm still trying to figure out who i am and what i want life, i do want to start dating in the near future.. my issue is that i've been in for almost all my life and it's left a big hole when it comes to my romantic life.. i was wondering, after leaving, did any of you date?

Hey Garrett- Good for you man, get out there and date ! Grease your wheels buddy ! After my divorce in 2003 from my then wife and I left the JW cult in the same year - I was single for several years until I finally met Mrs. Flipper in 2006. So I dated a variety of ladies, a couple relationships lasted awhile, one lasted about a year and a half and another one about 4 months. Sometimes it takes awhile to find THE person who you will end up settling down with that really matches well with you - but it takes putting yourself out there and experiencing meeting new people.
I met some of these ladies at antique stores, nightclubs ( which isn't the best place to meet someone who will last ) and through online dating at E-Harmony .com which I'll tell you more about in a bit. I did mention my experiences as a JW and told them I had moved on, it was a part of my past and viewed it as a learning experience. It felt really freeing to be able to date who I wanted to date without the WT organization telling me to only date a JW . Felt VERY freeing. It certainly opens up your possibilities for sure ! I met a lot of nice ladies, and by gaining that dating experience you gradually learn more about yourself and WHAT or WHO you will feel comfortable with- and WHAT or WHO you would not find comfort with.
Now - In regards to E-Harmony.com it worked really well for Mrs. Flipper and myself. They give you an E-mail account initially so you can E-mail each other in a safe way at first over their E-mail system and you don't even have to divulge your personal E-mail at first until you become comfortable getting to know a person. If you end up NOT feeling comfortable with a prospective love interest - you can hit the delete button and that person just gets removed from your E-harmony list of people you are checking out. No harm, no foul. Pretty cool.
When E-harmony matches you up they match you up with someone who has similar interests, values, and they go based on what each of you have answered in the pre-registration multiple choice questions or surveys. So you know right off the get go that you are probably getting to know someone who has similar values as you. Which is better in my opinion than dating someone for a year or two and they mask who they are then you find out you've wasted two years with someone who hid their real likes and dislikes or real personality from you. Been there, done that - it ain't a fun experience . Waste of time.
So I highly recommend Online dating, especially E-Harmony as they really try to set you up with people who are similar in interests and values to yourself. Hey Mrs. Flipper and I have been together over 9 years now- so we must have done something right ! LOL ! I wish you the best of luck in your dating experiences, don't rush to any quick decisions with any one person, take your time, enjoy yourself - enjoy the experience. You'll learn a lot not only about yourself- but other people. Take care, feel free to PM me if you want to chat some more ! Peace out, mr. Flipper

I like all the responses so far. especially the legal angle. But Ecan's suggestion is the initial best response in my opinion - ask them to explain what the charges are and then tell them you are NOT guilty of anything to be charged with. Deny, deny, deny. I used this tactic back in 2007 - 4 years after I stopped attending meetings they came after me for "circumstancial fornication " with my fiancé ( Mrs. Flipper now ) and they tried in time DFing me in absentia for refusing to attend their JC meeting. Then I took my son as a character witness to the JC appeal meeting and I appealed the decision threatening a lawsuit if they slandered me by DFing me with no evidence . They wrote to WT legal and WT legal told the 6 appeal elders to drop the DFing- to overturn it and I won my appeal. With me threatening a lawsuit and them having NO evidence against me at all - they had no case so WT told them to drop it. With me they knew they had a live one, a tiger by the tail so to speak so they haven't bothered me since. You have to appear bigger than them, don't back down. They shrink like violets in the sun. They want to control the game and control you- but you have to yank the control stick out of their hands and control them. You have to show them that they only have the illusion of control over you -

Those darned apostates
by berrygerry injuly 15, 1992 wt.
"apostates capitalize on errors or seeming mistakes made by brothers who take the lead.
our safety lies in avoiding apostate propaganda as though it were poison, which in fact it is.".

They use this term " seeming " mistakes by brothers who take the lead " the same as they use the term that some sue the WT Society for child abuse as their legal " right " to do so. Used in a sarcastic way to indicate that the elders didn't really make mistakes at all just " seeming " mistakes. WT leaders are so condescending and boorish -

Good thread. Thanks for starting it. It's good to know and be informed how JW's are responding to this. Especially if like me- you still have JW relatives still in the cult. As some probably read about my thread in talking to JW cart people in my area- the elder was so pissed off at me giving them the news releases about WT child abuse- he grabbed the releases from his wife's hands before she could even hand them back to me- and he threw them into the trash in front of me.
I believe this WT child abuse thing is REALLY getting to these JW's, getting under their skin. I think it's important for many of us ex-JW's to keep our foot on the accelerator and keep giving access to information to these people because let's face it- they ain't gonna hear about this at meetings in the kingdom hall. We need to keep putting some REAL into their reality. Just my 2 cents. I admire what you are doing with your efforts Brokeback Watchtower. And everybody else here- keep the great work up ! Let's do this ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
