Why do people "come back"?

i personally know of one example where a father of three, leaves jws, abandons wife and family, lives as a gay man then comes back 20 years later as a partaking member of the anointed..

UCANTNOME- You stated " I returned at one point after having left for some time and may do it again in the future for different reasons than I did the first time. " Were you confused about WHY you left in the first place ? If the JW organization is causing so much confusion in you that you go back in, then leave- then go back in- why not just stay OUT of the organization ? Shouldn't that in itself be sending you a message ? Just wondering about your reasons .
Personally I don't think I could return and be a " glutton for punishment " as the JW's I know would make me feel guilty for having been out for so long- Oh sure, I'd be love bombed once I got back in , but after that all the DEMANDS of being a JW and the guilt and fear would be re-indoctrinated into my mind. I couldn't put myself through that. I guess I cannot understand the reasons anybody would put themselves through that

There's so much mental garbage in this article- I don't even know where to begin ! The picture of the parents on the doorstep with their child out in service " offering him up as a sacrifice of praise to Jehovah " was creepy enough - but comparing it to ancient Israel and Abraham offering up his son in a " burnt sacrifice " ? Now that is REALLY creepy. Hasn't the WT Society sacrificed ENOUGH young lives by their sick, disgusting child abuse policies and sending young people out in service where they could either get molested by a stranger or a solo JW like Jonathan Kendrick taking them out in service. I guess " sacrifice " would be the right term from the WT Society's viewpoint. Creepy.
So much stupid stuff in this article- I don't know where to begin or end - as I said. The quote, " Something that has destroyed many relationships is the " desire of the eyes " . We can prevent this danger by choosing a mate with poor eyesight " . So stupid it goes without saying.
O.K. I finally get it after reading on a little bit and getting myself in an uproar over nothing- this is a satire . It's still creepy though. But JW's are a creepy cult

I'm a father first!

i was raised and spent most of my life a jw before i was disassociated, because i refused to stop seeing a non witness girl.
i must say their decision to cut me off from my family and friends although initially traumatic ended up being the biggest blessing in disguise of my life.

FATHERFIRST- Welcome to the board ! Your daughter is very lucky to have a father like you that's looking after her welfare. As regards most everything you stated about the WT Society I agree- although I take it one step further and call them a " criminal organization " - because THAT is what they are. Thousands of people have died due to their no blood transfusion doctrine. Their child abuse policies have led to children being ripped apart physically and mentally and emotionally, and the shunning policy has led to many suicides within the JW cult or organization. How much more criminal can they get ? Space won't allow me to write about ALL the criminal actions they take -

Please help me figure out my dreams

i am stumped for an answer and would love to hear your opinions, though.
every week or two for the last couple of years, i have a dream--or at least that's what i'm calling it--that consists of me waking up or thinking that i've waked up, and seeing the ceiling of my darkened bedroom filled with algebraic equations.

SOCRATES- Are you sure you aren't an extra actor left over from the movie " A Beautiful Mind " ? That's what Russell Crowe did in that movie writing all kinds of mathematical equations on the board trying to figure it out. LOL. Just joking. In reality it's hard to say what it means. Perhaps in your earlier life you were having problems with math - who knows ? Or perhaps it's a message telling you that in your current life you are trying to figure things out in life and it's as difficult as a complicated math situation. That may be it. Without knowing your circumstances it's hard to say.
I have kept track of all my dreams in a diary the last 4 + years and it's really helped me. I've got over 426 pages of dreams logged now over that time. It's a real trip ! But interesting. I've read some books on psychological dream work therapy - very interesting as well. I highly recommend Frederick Perl's " Gestalt Therapy Verbatim " from the late 1960's with his dream work seminars at Esalan Institute near Big Sur , California very interesting stuff to see how people worked through understanding their dreams

KH 1st timer, could use some advice

i am soon going into a kh for the first time and i could use some advice around etiquette etc.
i know next to nothing besides the fundamental beliefs of jws, i personally dont believe in any religion, and that stance isnt ever going to change, however i don't want to come across as rude or disrespectful.

JAMES MIXON- Yeah, I agree with you it's better not to debate scriptures or JW doctrine with these JW Cart people. Just stay on topic about WT child abuse. JW's are trained to try to go off topic and do circular reasoning on issues- why feed into it ? I agree. I think these people still see me as a non-JW as I told them my family are JW's but I'm not. So I'll stick with that still when I talk to them again.
PAINTED TOE NAIL- I REALLY like your idea about holding up signs that say " these people protect pedophiles " and list the names of the child abuse victims. EXCELLENT idea ! Because passerbys can write down the names and google them on the Internet in the privacy of their own homes and do research. In fact- I think your idea is the BEST idea I've read on this thread yet ! Good job !
ON THE WAY OUT- Thanks bud. Believe me- the thought crossed my mind to throw the entire Cart into the trash, but I'd never do that. I had lowered myself a bit already by tearing up the WT literature right in front of them and throwing it away- didn't want to accelerate the situation- believe me- it was already tense with " skinny arse grandpa elder " getting on his high horse throwing away my information. LOL . I'll go back though and hopefully talk to some different JW's there. The last two days I still see the JW cart there but different people are sitting there. I'll probably try again next week . Perhaps I'll hold up a sign or something like Painted Toe Nail said.

GLITCHY- Thanks for sharing your experience with your mom. Wow. It really proves what Finkelstein was saying is SO true- JW's will protect the reputation of the organization even above admitting criminal activity is being hidden within the walls of Kingdom halls. Thanks for providing the links to Reveal news and Trey Bundy's reports and links regarding this. Very important documentation exposed. Good work.
PETE ZAHUT- That's a really great idea you have to put these you tubes on some kind of a playback device and go show it to the JW's at the JW Carts. Actual footage of the ABC news report - then if they don't want to listen to it they can just run away from their JW cart areas ! LOL ! Gotta love it.
