Sorry Six of Nine You need to study up on Chavez. Once a budding democracy, Venezuela under Chavez is rapidly turning into an autocratic Marxist state.

There's always going to be those "Jane Fonda" types out there. They think its somehow "cool" to rub shoulders with America's adversaries. They're privileged people who have earned a lot of money entertaining the masses and suddenly they think this entitles them to spit in the face of our country.
They think big $$ earned suddenly turns these high school drop outs or theatrical majors into someone able to understand foreign policy and government diplomatic strategy better than anyone else. They just become so full of themselves that they can't "see" anything but themselves and they don't know nor care what it means to respect our government. Disagreeing and debating among ourselves is healthy and right. But what they are doing is IMO going too far.
But, who cares really? They're just entertainers with big egos. It gets their names in the media which is all they want anyway. Hell, their publicist or PR company probably advised them to "get controversial"! It sells tickets to their stupid movies!

Our creator is a god of laws. Just look at the natural laws in the universe and you will see this. In dealing with humans which he made in his own image, his law was basic: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."--Ex. 1-23-25
"...and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense or reward."--Heb 2:2b and Rev. 13:10
Some substance totally foreign (not of the same kind) to the pure blood was introduced into Man's body and it was this that brought death to mankind for it was passed down through the blood. God's LAW requires BLOOD in the redemption plan.

What is the mechanism for the passing on of this inherent nature?
How do you pass on any trait or inherent tendancy? Through BLOOD. The Original Sin involved BLOOD----not the disobedient act of eating a piece of literal fruit from a literal tree.

Can a staunch Democrat be good friends with a staunch Republican?
by journey-on infor those with strong political views, is it impossible to be really good friends with someone on the other side?
my very best friends either tend to think like me on the political continuum or have no care whatsoever for politics.
those with exceptionally strong leaning toward the other party tend to get mean and nasty in political discussions which invariably deteriorate hopes for a deeper friendship.. what has been your experience?.

My Brother Died in a Car Wreck Last Night
by WLG ini just found out about an hour ago.
he wasn't even old enough to drink yet.. to make it even sh*ttier, he had called me a few weeks ago and asked if he could come out here with me but i couldn't do it at the time.
so of course the first thing that comes to mind is if i had done something different it wouldn't have happened.. he was going through the sh*t as i call it, when witnesses go off the deep end and get into everything in the world to stop hurting and they don't even know what is wrong.

I hate Walmart!
by Elsewhere ini rarely ever set foot in the place and will go out of my way to avoid shopping there.
tonight i made the mistake of giving walmart the benefit of the doubt and walked in the door.. they didn't have the main item i was looking for, but they did have one other small item.
i headed to the front to check out only to find they had only a few check-outs open and all of the lines were far too long.

I think WalMart is good for a local community as it FORCES other businesses to compete. It forces their employees to provide good customer service, which was severely lacking in too many businesses.
This is correct, IMO. However, at the other end of the spectrum, some businesses cannot compete because of the nature of the business. The way one of our local businesses solved the problem, was by offering a higher end product. Walmart carried the same type of stuff in one of their departments, but this small business decided to make her product the higher quality more upscale type. Guess what!? She stayed in business and now the locals that want better quality and a more up-scale version have an alternative.
She used the 80/20 rule. 80% of her sales come from 20% of the customer base. It worked for her. I know....because it was me.

There is nothing wrong with the WTBTS being a member of the United Nations
by Gill inapparantly, these days it is general knowledge in our local congregation that the wtbts had joined the united nations as an ngo!.
this is not a problem i am reliably told by a local relative.. the un nations deserves the same respect as any other governmental authority and just as jehovah's witnesses would obey the law of the land there is no problem in being part of the united nations!
i know jws have their minds well and truly under control, but as i remember the united nations was bad mouthed from its inception by the wtbts.. hyprocrisy, lying and slander were all words that crossed my mind when talking to this relative, but the huge pointlessness of trying to wake up a jw from their 'cosy' fantasy world suddenly struck me and i made my excuses and left..

This is how I'm beginning to feel. The WTS has put in place so many safety nets for themselves that anything they do or have done can be explained away. They've done such a good job of eliminating real thinking skills in their drones, that the possiblility of the r&f actually seeing the hypocrisy in the UN thing is almost nil. Only a few with half a brain will be able to see it. Their minds have been numbed.
All we can do is drop a few seeds here and there and hope they take root.
