Bigdreaux....I think this is a great idea. The board seems a little slow tonight though, so if you don't get some hits, lets bump this up tomorrow.
Edit: Not only a little slow, but sort of "down" even...
i have an idea.
who wants to roll play?
most of us here were witnesses at one point.

way, way back in 1962, when i was four years old and my family relocated from harlem to queens, ny, our tuesday night book study, as it used to be called way back when almost universally in jw land, was conducted by a woman !!
please don't think i don't remember correctly because of my young age at the time, but the sis.
who conducted it is still alive, and i practically know her whole family.
LOL at Restrangled
Are you obsessed with laundry issues this week?
I have 2 guys in the house.....they have their work out clothing, around the house clothing, work clothes, school clothes, and just hanging out clothes!....I cannot keep up. The washer has been running for 6 hours and I'm not even close to getting to the end of their dirties!!!
, idiots who needed to iron their husbands shirts for the meetings.....bottom line, and I don't believe that has changed for one minute

in the congregation.
it always seemed as if your best was never good enough and more could .
My current hubby, who's never been a witness, said one time that being a JW didn't sound that bad. What's 3 or 4 hours a week spent at church? Then I showed him:
Sun. 9:30 - 11:30 Public talk and Watchtower study
2:00 - 4:00 Field service
Mon. (sometime after work) -- Study for your Tues. nite book study, work on preparing any upcoming parts you may have been assigned.
Tues. 8:00 - 9:00 Book study
Wed. (sometime after work) -- Study for Thursday nite meetings and work on parts assigned.
Thurs. 7:30 - 9:30 -- Ministry School and Service Meeting
Sat. morning -- Field service, return visits.
Sat. evening -- Study for Sunday's Watchtower lesson
On top of all of the above, you should be conducting a one-hour Bible study with your family and holding Bible studies with interested persons. Also, if you are an elder, you will be making shepherding calls, preparing public talks, counseling weaker ones, and having elder's meetings.
And if you're not doing all of this, your conscience hurts you and you feel like you're spiritually weak. YOU JUST CAN'T WIN!!!
All he said was, "Damn! That's crazy!"
i've been reading the thread about posters you miss hearing from.
some of you sound like you've invested a lot of "heart" in developing a raport with certain posters over a long period of time only to find suddenly they stop posting and your "friendship" has disappeared overnight.
you miss them and wonder what happened to them.. how is that any different from what we experienced when our "friends" at the kh stopped calling or coming by.
Thank you for responding, Sassy. I guess one of the things I'm asking is, don't you feel the loss just the same. Or are cyber friends that much different?
i have an idea.

Kind of like overcoming objections, only reversed???
hello folks.
a loaded question for sure.
after being out of the org.
NOTHING.

How is that any different from what we experienced when our "friends" at the KH stopped calling or coming by. We invested a lot of years in those friendships, then suddenly overnight....gone. Yet we criticize them.
Thoughts and comments, please.
we just had our convention at the memorial colosseum in portland, or.
good old teddyj was our keynote speaker.
i can tell you right now that the ol' boy's still alive and kicking.
bloviating blowhard blandly belched banal, boring bullshit
Loved it! Very creative.
i didn't want to hijack the wanderer's new thread about weather the w.t.s.
should be held accountable for shunning, but, in reading it, a thought flashed across my little brain.
he pointed out that apostates that picket conventions are usually the worst kind of "apostates" they usually seem angry and uneducated.
You may be right....They ARE big on SPIRITUAL WARFARE.
When I first started posting here in Feb., I enjoyed Brother Apostate. He was funny, informed, and presented his material in a well-researched easy-to-read manner. Also, I loved his avatar. I wonder what happened to him. I miss him and feel the loss.
I left for about a month, and when I came back, it looked like new posters were posting, but then I noticed many of them had thousands of posts, so they had probably taken a hiatus at the time I came on and returned while I was gone.
