  The most common response in a situation like this is, in time you will get over it. Been there and that doesn't help the hurt at the present. Time does do it and that will varie with everyone. Being more active may help even in new interests. A different mindset might even tell you, enough is enough, and you just move on. It will happen.

  Who and what would you have been if not for the JWs..............

  abandoned got me thinking about this is an earlier post, when he said along the lines of 'he wished he had never had thw whole jw experience'.

  i also remember reading recently on another thread how one poster said their creative talents were stifled.. so now i am pondering what life woulda/coulda been like...............had i not had jw parents................in my own case i was very bright at school and excelled in maths and english subjects, but i remember zero encouragement from my parents for all that i was acheiving, or to pursue any type of career.............so maybe i was destined to be a journalist, an accountant (or maybe not)........i always liked the thought of acting, but guess that is most kids dream and i was also drawn to my fathers vocation, that of training racehorses but being the fourth child and having three older brothers my dad didnt take this very seriously.

  i also love doing old houses up and interior design, which whilst i have done for my own personal use never considered as a career...................and then there is the latent writer in me just bursting with a bestseller.. oh my!!

  I was never allowed to set a goal for my future. I really could have been anything if I were allowed to go to college.

  Hi, it's me again

  it's really great to be back on here, i've missed you all so much.

  i'm home for the weekend, and feeling a lot better than i was earlier in the week.

  i picked up an infection and felt really awful for a day or two, but it's ok now.

  it seems like there's a rash of copycat killers itching to get media attention.

  do you think the media goes too far with detailing such atrocities??

  They gave the killer to much publicity. If they never said much about him, he would have gone down as the nobody he should be.

  Question about keeping jw friend

  after reading some threads, i think this is the place to get some advice

  i finally did my homework on the wbts (and now feeling like an idiot) i have made my decision to leave.

  however, i'm terrified of being shunned by my brother(best friend and best man at his wedding).

  after reading some threads, i think this is the place to get some advice

  i finally did my homework on the wbts (and now feeling like an idiot) i have made my decision to leave.

  however, i'm terrified of being shunned by my brother(best friend and best man at his wedding).

  Make a break. No doubt your brother will come to you to find out why. Then tell him your reason.

  As for your brother and his wife, there is a song called "When a man loves a woman",, listen to it a couple times.

  my mom passed away yesterday.

  she was a die-hard jw.

  i tried to explain why i couldn't accept certain teachings but rather than rationally consider what i had to say she chose to believe i was just "confused".

  But I still want to be hugged, kissed and ravaged occassionally. And I want to hug, kiss and ravage back occassionally.

  My definition of passion. I like passion and looking back to the few one nighters from my early years there was no passion. I think it's easier to exert passion with someone you have known and had a good relationship with.

  to not show emotion, youre an idiot, or youre living a pipe dream.

  if someone were to tell me not to show emotion, id hit them in the lip..

  If my wife cries, I don't know what to do. My first reaction, I cry with her.
