So let me guess, you were overwhelmed by the holy spirit upon reading the prologue, fell to your knees, praised the lord, and then bought that bible?

Why our Bible is the best!
by nvrgnbk inhere is an interesting prologue i recently found while perusing bibles at my local christian bookstore.... as the holy scriptures that were meticulously transmitted to our ancient brethren form the basis of our undying faith in the sovereign lord almighty, the importance of their accurate translation is of utmost concern to all of the consecrated.
tragically, the enemy of our salvation, satan, and his earthly agents have spared no effort in their attempts to adulterate the purest thoughts of the most high.
the means used were often so subtly insidious that it's only after the passage of centuries that contradictions in renderings and spurious verses have become apparent to the faithful.

how to make the perfect sandwich
by wings infirst you have to have an appreciation for the fact that it is an art form.. like an appreciation of music....endless possibilities...... then you have to start with good fresh bread, if you don't have that, you won't hit perfect.
hot or cold?
doesn't really matter...perfection can be found either way.

I made a turkey and swiss sandwich for my lunch/dinner break this evening, and I was down to the last two slices on the loaf. They're a bit stale, :( but waste not want not.
Edit: Chips on the side? No, you put the chips in the sandwich. :) Seriously, it's good. -

Car culture differences between Europe and America
by Simon ineuropeans and americans seem to have very different culture when it comes to cars which automobiles being much more enshrined in american culture (i'll ignore the obvious oxymoron joke .
for instance, off the top of my head i can think of quite a few references to cars in songs or just driving but they are always american songs and cars.
no one sang much about moris minors or hilman imps i guess and getting kicks on route 66 sounds so much more impressive than the services on the m6.. likewise with films, cars feature in american films but hardly ever in british ones (ok, chitty chitty bang bang and the double-decker bus in summer holiday are the exceptions).. does this explain the different attitudes toward cars on each continent?.

I was reading something one day on the differences between the average American and European cars.
the average size of the the engine in a European car was something like 1.6 or 1.8L, while the average American car was 3.5L. Over half of European cars are diesel, while something like 1% of American cars are diesel. Average mpg was 35 vs 25. One thing I didn't see was average distance travelled per year. It would be interesting to see total average fuel cost. I bet given all these differences that even though fuel is a lot more expensive in Europe they'd be similar. -

Lol!
Drat and I was hoping to make some money off the yet untapped tofu fetish market on the internet.

I would cook it for a time, times and half a times.
Then I would mix in seven bowls of anger.
Then I would throw a big rock at it, and destroy a third of the tofu.
Then a harlot would ride on top of the tofu.
Then I would throw the tofu into an abyss because I hate tofu.
And at some point in the process I guess I'd play a trumpet.

No worries.
The GTI has a direct injected 2 liter turbo, and I think the compression ratio is 10.5:1. I can average about 28mpg on my usual driving if I keep my foot from getting a bit too heavy.

I have a GTI, and the manual says 91+ octane.
It's not wise to go against zee instructions of zee german engineers.
I could get the cheap stuff and it'd probably run fine, but I'd get a bit less power, and probably a bit less mpg, so it'd be a wash.

chocolate
by John Doe ini heard a while back of a study that was done some years ago.
evidently, they took children preschool or kindergarten, don't remember which, and told them that they could have either 1 piece of chocolate now, or if they waited till the end of the day they could have two.
they kept track of which kids took the immediate chocolate and which ones held out for two.

I would take the two pieces at the end of the day, melt them down, put the chocolate in to a cow mold then wrap the chocolate in golden foil. Then I would worship it and make burnt offerings to it.
