No, I don't think I could, knowing what I know now.

If You Were Granted Amnesty, Would U Go Back To Being A JW?
by minimus inif a new policy arose stating that everyone could return and start afresh, would you ever think about returning----especially if you had family and friends in that would now talk to you again?

Who is your favorite animated cartoon character?
by gaiagirl inmy favorite would have to be marvin the martian (first appearance 1948).
everything about him cracks me up, from his roman gladiator helmet and kilt, to the way he walks and speaks ("that makes me angry, very angry indeed"), to the ultra cool devices he uses (suprisingly, from acme, who apparantly has outlets on mars).
a very close second, almost a tie, would have to go to droopy (first appearance 1943), who also walks and speaks in a humorous manner, and who has abilities far beyond what would be expected from his dimunitive size.

Abstain from.... things strangled
by drew sagan innot to long ago a saw a post floating around that had some comments discussing how the wts has basically never really given any opinion on what it means to abstain from things strangled as described in acts 15. we all know that thousands upon thousands of things have been said about 'blood' as mentioned in that passage, but in searching through the literature i have found nothing that describes 'things strangled'.
is there anywhere in the literature that goes into detail on this at all?
or do they refuse to give comments on this at all?

Find a credit union to join, or maybe Washington Mutual, they seem to have some pretty good offerings. I've always used credit unions myself.

Paisley Ties Are Satanic, Sandals Are Immodest. What is Worldly????
by mtsgrad in20 years ago (in my teens!
) there was a well established rumour that the paisley pattern had demonic origins.
no brothers in my hall wore ties with that pattern, until a watchtower had a brother wearing a tie with this pattern.. a co said that sisters feet should not seen at the meetings for the sake of decency.

I wonder if anyone ever brought up that ties themselves are a phallic symbol.. let alone worrying about paisleys on them.
silly rules. -

Noisy Neighbours - what do you do?!
by Crumpet inokay so here is the scenario:.
i finally acquaint myself with the "floating ship" that is my four poster bed about 1.30 am, finish watching a favourite lullaby horror movie - wolf creek and close my eyes.. minutes later a door slams right next to my ear and then another and what sounds like a gaggle of adolescent girls (reminiscent of the current manless debacle that is big brother uk this year) screams their way into the flat next door at high volume.
they are talking so loud i can hear every inane word they say.

I agree with Elsewhere, I've gone to my neighbors and politely asked them to turn the music/video games down before, and they've listened. Try the carrot before the stick.
Plus most places here have a noise part in the lease where being too loud after certian hours can result in fines, or eviction if they continue to bother the other tenants.
I'd go 1) Neighbor 2) Landlord 3) Law. -

Carniverous animals... SHOULD they eat grass?
by LtCmd.Lore in(isaiah 11:7) .
.and the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down.
and even the lion will eat straw just like the bull.

Natural selection due in part to pressures from predatory animals is what has given us all the diversity in life today. Without predatory pressures they'd all turn into animals that can process pant matter most efficiently. I think a paradise Earth would eventually become filled with gassy cows.

Were You Taught Evolution in School? Comparative Religion?
by bavman inwhere you went to school, that is secondary and high school.
was evolution taught?
is it taught in european school?

Yes, a few classrooms even had the monkey to man poster. I remember one test in 10th grade biology on evolution I answered wrong intentionally, but it would've been right if Jehovah was grading it! I was quite a righteous tool. Comparative religion, no.
