Were you a loud singer?
by HockeyMullet ini don't know why, but i was just thinking of this guy in my hall that sang so loud that it was embarassing to just be there.
he sounded like the love child of kermit the frog and miss piggy.
i remember trying to mimick his voice during one song and getting counseled by one of the bros because i had a few of younger guys laughing.

Monkey Eats With Robot Arm
by metatron inhttp://www.random-good-stuff.com/index.php/2007/02/20/video-monkey-controls-robotic-arm-with-mind-beware-of-robot-monkeys/.
the monkey is restrained so he has to learn to use the robot arm.
also, on keelynet.com, there's a report about artificially grown ligaments being implanted into rabbits.. .

I remember the last memorial I went to was with a co-worker who was raised in the truth, at that time I was still feeling a little guilty about not going to the meetings so I went. During the songs he'd substitute "Jehovah" with "Santa Claus", I couldn't stop laughing and ended up doing it myself.
Bow down to Santa Claus!
That was the last meeting I went to. -

Moral equivocation, isn't it fun? I thought the topic was Islam.
But since you asked, after Muhammad conquered Arabia his followers turned their sites on the Christian lands to the west. At the battle of Yarmuk River in 632 the Eastern Roman(Byzantine) forces were defeated, and Syria and Palestine came under the control of what was to become the Islamic Caliphate. A few years later in Egypt the same thing occurred, and throughout north Africa, then the Visigothic kingdom of Spain was conquered. The Islamic conquests in the West were only stopped at the battle of Poitiers in 732 by Charles Martel. While all this was going on in the west Islam was also spread through Zoroastrian Persia and further east by the same method.
So to answer your question it is different in the fact that Islam was first to militarily subjugate lands in the name of their religion. Had these military conquests not occurred things like the crusades in the 11th century would not have happened since the "holy lands" would've still been in Christian hands. -

Since the battle of Badr in 624 Muhammad and his followers have been at war with whatever is not Muslim. If you're going to go back through history start at the beginning.

Allah... he can dish it out but can't take it.
by Elsewhere inlooks like the all-powerful creator of everything has to hide behind humans when confronted with opposing ideas.
sure, allah can rant on and on about how he wants to kill and torment the unbelievers, but what happens when someone simply questions allah?

My Story, in verse
by dedpoet inthis is my 1000th post, (light sabre required now), and as i've never told my story on this forum i though i'd do it now.

I started out on the bottom rung as a tape ape. The Mainframe would call for a tape to be mounted into a drive and I'd go to the library to fetch it. I worked my way up from there. My current title is Network Engineer, although I'm more of a technician than an engineer. I deal mostly with WAN technologies like IDNX, and ATM, also Cisco routers. I also do circuit testing, T-1s(E-1s) and the like. Most of my training has been on the job training. I really should be studying for my CCNA, but I'm a big procrastinator.
