The interior of your vehicle....how do you keep it?
by restrangled inthis subject may seem like fluff, but it really isn't.
in the last 3 days i have been in 3 vehicles, where the floor was not visable, water bottles or garbage were accidently kicked out as i tried to get in.
coffee cups belonging in the house were littered willy-nilly, the passenger seat was loaded with crap, and one vehicle actually held underwear of the persons love interest.

Call it what it is. The BUSH RECESSION.
by sammielee24 incall to arms.
the creeprepublicans are already in force trying to strategize for the next election with lies - of course what else is new?
the party that just finished bringing down the country haven't even bothered to let people breathe or let them see the results of the lawsuits and justice for all of those people that they allowed to destroy us.

From the SEC chairman himself... after the fact of course.
"As the markets grew larger and more complex—in scope and in products offered—the Commission failed to keep pace. As the markets needed more transparency, the SEC allowed opacity to reign. As an overheated market needed a strong referee to rein in dangerously risky behavior, the Commission too often remained on the sidelines.
As this Committee examines the record, I believe it will find a lack of transparency, a lack of enforcement, and a lack of resources all played key roles."
EPA, FDA cuts impact enforcement
EPA not Enforcing Clean Air Act
EPA not enforcing E-waste rules
FDA not enforcing Medical Device standards
These banking conglomerates like Citibank and BoA because of the deregulation grew "too big to fail". All those mergers would've been illegal before. They were able to misrepresent the risk in the sub-prime mortgage backed securities because of a lack of or no regulation. Because of deregulation they were able to leverage themselves far beyond what they could before.
100% reserve? How will the banks loan out money, or pay interest if they have to keep 100% of deposits on hand? Why even have a bank? I might as well keep my money stuffed in my mattress. There were still bubbles, booms, and busts when there was a gold standard, and even before fractional banking.

That there was a comprehensive deregulation of financial services in the US over the last few years is a myth
In 1982 the Depository Institutions Act was a sweeping deregulation of the S&Ls, several years later the S&Ls collapsed under too much debt.
In 1999 Financial Services Modernization Act was passed, and the repeal of Glass-Steagal deregulating the banking industry, add to that the free market idealogues that Bush placed in positions that simply refused to enforce existing regulations, and you have the current collapse of the over leveraged financial industry.
Until human nature changes a free market paradise is just as unatainable as the worker's paradise depicted on those propaganda posters in that video I posted. Much to the chagrin of the altruists you'll always have the narcissists who will take whatever they can simply because they can whether they're in government or private industry. If everyone were altruistic it would work, but we're not, so we need rules, regulations and the threat of punishment to keep society together.
