Thomas Covenant's Mrs was given some grief by an attendant for not wearing a badge at a DC a year or two ago. She went totally balistic on him by the way.

back in my time anybody could just walk in, but some recent threads sound like that might be hard to do.
i'm also going to try to get a local paper to give me one time press credentials.

Is the Kingdom Hall a good place for ugly guys to get pretty girls?
by donny inabout two weeks ago i was having lunch at an establishment that has tables set up on the outside (actually a sidewalk) and as i was waiting for my order, i overheard two guys talking at the next table.
a homely guy who had a pretty girl on his arm brought this response.

Yes it is.
The only problem is, because everyone tends to just marry the first person they ever hold hands with you need to be super pro-active. Grooming is essential, as all the best girls are snaffeled up before they're out of their teens.

Would you rather see the WTS move mainstream or just collapse in a heap?
by ThomasCovenant inmaybe eventually the wts will adapt and change and try to go mainstream.. as 'new shite' shines brightly then;.
maybe eventually celebrating birthdays and even christmas will be 'allowed' without too many repercussions.. maybe eventually the 'blood' issue will fade away and 'brothers' wil be allowed the whole lot of fractions together at the same time.. maybe eventually disfellowshipping and particularly shunning will be seen as unloving and done away with.. personally i would rather this wouldn't happen.. i would prefer to see the wts collapse in the mire even with all the emotional fallout there would be to those still in having their crutches pulled away from them.. i don't want the wts to modify and adapt and go more gentle on the rank and file.. i want them to get more harsh with the brothers.. i want it to go down, not along.. am i being too cruel to those still in?.
would the more loving caring attitude be to hope that the wts changes for the better?.

Well I was chatting with a friend of mine who's still in the other day and he said "Surely you don't think it will still be around in 20 years time?"
To which I said "You're not looking to leave any time soon, so what makes you think everyone else will have in 20 years time?"
I'm pretty sure alot of people would stick with it even if the top end of the borg collapsed, because they wouldn't know how else to live their lives.

Who here has just let the JW stuff go?. I NEED HELP GUYS!!!!!!!.................
by oompa in....i am so frikkin obsessed about the jw lies and my newfound truths about them, and it is prob driving me crazy or causing depression.....if i wake up in the middle of the night, i never get back to sleep as my mind starts racing about jw crap and how it affects my marriage, and then how can i make this marriage work with her such a hardcore dub....i told my wife i now realize i am an abusive husband.....i must stop talking to her about the real truth!!
!..........it is killing her inside and we have had soooo many bad discussions that turn into arguments......on top of that she says she is now closer to jah and the org than at any other time in her life, that now that she has no positive direction from me, she relies totally on jehovah and prays to him more than ever..... we talked about separation, and that i was going to lose her over our religious differences........i feel so sorry for what i have put her through, and i know that if i can not really shut up with my ohsohelpful comments of truths about this truth she will leave me due to "spiritual endangerment".......and she said she is damm close to that happening.....i told her i knew it to and would so hate to lose her due to our religious differences.
at my recent shepherding call, they said to try and stop focusing on the negatives i have found in jw, and focus on the good things...and that is not a bad idea even if i never go back to meetings....there are good things about dubs....the efforts at ending racism and at least for me, some really good lifelong friends.......even their hope for the future was pretty good to me, even though it is a bunch of crap and i no longer believe the bible is gods word or inspired.....it does have some good suggestions for a happy life and ideas as to how to treat others........but so do just about every holy book of other faiths........ i had plans to start going to some meetings with my wife, but today, after a sleepless night i told her i just dont think i can do it, and just as she strongly believes it is the truth, i do not, and that i think the guys on the gb are not led by holy spirit cause if she will read the proclaimers book, she will see we have never gotten a single bible inerpretation of prophecy correct.......so she says "so what is there?

Dude, I think you're one of the safest guys on this forum, and I totally understand how you can get so thoroughly wound up by the ridiculous beliefs we've been exposed to since we were born.
The trouble is, it's real, real hard to get other people to understand. The harder you try, the more they think you are an agent of satan(ffs!).
So what can you do? Who knows man, if anybody knew a surefire way of deprogramming JW victims we'd all know about it by now, you just need to give it time and possibly opportunity's will present themselves in the future.

Did You See Joaquin Phoenix On Letterman???
by minimus ingo to you tube and it'll come right up if you haven't seen it.
for 10 long minutes letterman tries to interview phoenix but cannot get anything out of him!
this is either a gag or phoenix is just like his other brother river who died from drugs.. what a contrast between that interview and craig fergerson and robin williams on last week.
