We beat them up pretty bad on the knife forums. It's a hobby all in it's self that we enjoy a bit more then we should.

Kindness Toward Trolls
by compound complex indear givers of the benefit of the doubt,.
i recall that in discussing "love believes all things," the aid book stated that we should give our "brother" the benefit of the doubt until we have good reason to no longer do so.
that's the gist of it.

Stephanus you are right! Custom knifemaking that went from a hobby to small side business. There are a couple bladesmithing forums that I hang out on and am the moderator for one of them. Working in my shop keeps my head clear and provides a creative outlet. It also keeps my fingers constantly in some type of bandages and steri strips.

I just showered this morning I could not possibly smell like one yet, or could I? I will have to try to find some troll scent masking soap. Any suggestions?

I have only been here one month now but I can assure everyone I am not a troll. I am so very grateful to all the great people here. I visit a couple hobby related forums but this one allready feels like home to me. If JWD was around 23 years ago my fade would have been so much easier and who knows how much better off I would be by now. So a big giant "thank you" to everyone here.
A forum like this has got to be an enormous threat to the Borg. Never in a million years would they have thought something as powerful as the internet would come along and allow so many ex JW's to network together on a common ground. We may lose friends by leaving the borg but we can now gain so many more. The Borg has to be at this point realizing they are quickly losing thier grip and that a major shift is taking place.
I have allready located a couple lost friends and we have alot of catching up to do. Without JWD that may have never happened. Dealing with an occasional troll is a very small inconvenience compared to the powerful and far reaching benefits of us sticking together and working through all of our baggage.
There are at least two long time members here that can vouch for my "non troll standing".

microphone duty
by praiseband inok, for those of us non-, and never before-jw's, will someone please explain what the big deal is about having responsibility for microphones is all about?
we do use microphones in our church, but ....i mean whoever is in charge of any technology that day sets up microphones.
it could be anyone in the church, male or female, young or old, the pastor, the janitor.

I remember mike duty very vividly. It seems I got stuck with it almost every other sunday and I hated it. The dam cords were always tangled and the numbnuts running the amp was either stoned or asleep and forgot to turn them on. Or he would forget to turn them off and I would always smack my mike into floor or a wall making for a delightful explosion sound. Then everyone wold turn around to see what assclown did it this time. I always had a special talent for injuring people with them to. Fun times they were.
Thanks for bringing this topic up and allowing me re-live yet another nightmare.

Dog Owners: Is your pet a Killer?
by restrangled inone of my dobermans today, dragged a tarp off a pile of wood we had covered.
sure enough there was a large pink nose sticking out of the pile.
he went in and dragged out an oppossum which must have weighed fifteen pounds.

My little beaglets were some great sniffers and hunted together real well. I had nine at one time and when they all started baying it got a little crazy sounding. Some day I will get one just for a buddy since I don't rabbit hunt anymore.

I had a shepard timber wolf hybrid that killed wild rabbits a couple times a week. He never touched our cats but seemed to enjoy bunny hunting occasionally. Since he was always well fed it was either just for sport or a way for him to feel like a tough guy. He also enjoyed pinning my poor beagles to the ground with his size fifeteen paws.

Can we talk? . . .
by exwitless inhey, this is under jokes and humor, so don't get too offended.
i just wanted to vent about how people say things incorrectly, such as pronouncing things wrong or saying phrases wrong.
i'll start, and if you have any to add, please feel free.

I did not take any offense, I was just hoping that we all could see the bigger picture of why we are all here. My posting quality is directly related to my frame of mind and some days I do not have the mental energy to make sure it is all tidied up. If I am having a less then stellar day some of my postings may be a bit rough around the edges. I hope that no one would be judging my education level on those days at least.
I have only been here for less then a month so I am still getting a feel for everyone. Most certainly I have not seen any arrogance but a whole bunch of great people instead. I am a college educated partially house broken redneck so I don't offend easily.
CoCo, Thanks for the PM, no worries!

I never realized how many here are that bothered by spelling, grammar and punctuation. I feel much less comfortable posting now since these are not my strong points. One of the challenges with any forum is to get lurkers to become involved and contribute to the dynamics of it.
This forum in particular is very important for support and encouragement of ex JW's and those soon to be. Allow me to go on record and say I am more interested in hearing from all of you and offering support when I can then how well you spell.
Maybe when we can get through all of our depression, grief, alienation, confusion and frustration we can then work on basic english. It looks like we have fine group of willing teachers allready here!
