Demons...

I was raised in the JWs. I could go on and on about what constitutes praying to, allowing, signs, etc. about the demons. You could get demons if you bought something from the second hand store that looked "too old." You could get demons from associating with a person at work that did the tarot. You could "get demons" if you did yoga. Almost every circumstance from normal life you could get demons, depending on who was interpreting it.

I have been a ghost hunter for several years. I am a skeptical ghost hunter. I say that 90% of my investigations are just some normal explanations. In all my years as a ghost hunter, I have never encountered what I would consider a DEMON. Never. I've had things move in my presence, I've had voices on tape, but nothing so scary as a demon might be. My Mother thinks I am demon possessed because I'm a ghost hunter, and am SEARCHING for paranormal activity, that Satan must have planted himself on my doorstep and I have demons.

I have always know that DEMONS are mischevious tricksters, at least that is what I thought. But, even in the most malevolent of investigations, there was no demon coming at me with claws, fire breath, all that. I've always encountered just harmless entities.

    Demons.. PFFFAH!

CG. Have you read the book GHOSTS, TRUE ENCOUNTERS WITH THE WORLD BEYOND, haunted places, houses, people, by Hans Holzer. 761 pages. It boggled the mind.

When I was deep in Jehovah's Witnessdom (dumb) I believed in the existence of demons and often detected their activity.

When I stopped believing all the malarky I had thought was true my fear of (and detection of) demons vanished.

Now I think I know why.

1.What we hold to be true is what we expect to be true.

2.We interpret what we see, feel and hear by filtering it through or expectation, beliefs and sense of reality.

3.Raw sensory data passes through our expection-of-reality filter and we interpret for ourselves what is said to be "there" and react accordingly.

Here is a kind of test of this for you. Find a friend who is very very ticklish. Sit them down and say this:

"I am NOT going to tickle you, but; I'm going to get very very close to you in your most sensitive ticklish areas and wiggle my fingers AS THOUGH I'm about to tickle you severely. Don't react!"

I positively guarantee you they'll start going bananas before you get very close at all. Especially will they react to your non-tickling if you put on a fiendish I'm-really-going-to-tickle-you face! (Ham it up!)

Now what does this test prove about demons?

Just this. Our mind is in a state of expectation at all times about what we THINK WILL HAPPEN NEXT based on what we feel is true. When we are ticklish (or afraid of demons) we interpret things in terms of threats to us and act accordingly.

No matter what that shadow is in the dark, no matter what that mysterious sound was in your closet, no matter how innocent an event that happens----if you BELIEVE it to possibly be the work of invisible sinister forces of evil YOU WILL REACT AS THOUGH IT IS TRUE!

    Being ticklish is the same.

I cured myself of being ticklish.

You know how? I tried to tickle myself! Right. I couldn't figure out WHY I could NOT tickle myself. Why why why?

Then, I realized the reason. It was a matter of fear of loss of control and not of being touched in a silly way on my sides or neck.

This was an epiphany! IT WAS ALL IN MY MIND!!

The same is true of demons.

You expect there to be a demon and sure enough there is one there......waiting to tickle your imagination!!

I have been hunting the paranormal since I was a young girl, 9 at least. What I have understood over my many years of paranormal investigations is that there are very many different paranormal feelings, and beings. Harmless entites are paranormal entities that don't mean harm to someone, but that live alive in our descriptions.

I have a friend who called one. A real nasty one, too. Too bad he won't talk about it.

Harmless entities. All the ghosts <cough> that I have encoutered in my own research and investigation have not been malignant. They want to cause NO HARM. I can guaratee you that these entities that speak are just people left over from behind. There is no harm intended for the inhabitants of where they are. CG

You should definitely read "A Demon-Haunted World" by Carl Sagan.
