mrs. add and i have seen a need in our area for this.
it all started over month ago when she gave her yearly talk on what is a cult at our local uu congregation.
their was several newcomers in the audience who have recently left the high control cults.
Great thing to do.
l used to imagine in the days following my departure that l returned to door-knocking to un-do my previous efforts.
In my mind : l would begin by apologizing for my past visits. Then spell out the wrongs, the spiritual aggressions l had perpetrated when last at their door. And in addition l would express the harms that l realized personally my cult was part of. I would encourage them to evade capture.
I am a survivor and l have found by being in fact open with myself and others l have become freer. I am sorry for the impact of my religious zeal on others but l was also captive.
maybe if people actually play act st this they can get some relief?
Just my 2cents worth. Good for you two.
Spring is in the air!
i came to see if any of the old faces are here, thank you so much, you've helped me through so much.

Laughter is incredibly effective against demagoguery - l will check it out
in the aftermath of the valentine's day school shooting in florida, i have read quite a number of articles, blogs and posts about the event.
it is disturbing--and i think inexcusable--that many people take the opportunity to use horrible tragedies such as this to push their own particular agenda.. in particularly insensitive and tone-deaf tweet, conservative political commentator tomi lahren wrote: "can the left let the families grieve for even 24 hours before they push their anti-gun and anti-gunowner agenda?
my goodness.
Fink-I think if you talk to a therapist or even read online from some authority you would find that most people deal with some kind of mental health problems in their life at some time. There are dome mental issues things “hardwired “ and other things not. Therapy alone helps some of it and sometimes drugs help others. Or not.But rage, depression other stressors can overwhelm a person.
Ever hear of a “temporary insanity” plea?
jwundubbed isn’t saying it is a simple equation.

Massively important post. Thanks.
my boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).
he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.
but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.
Do not marry this man. Please.
hi friends one and all i just thought i would let you know it`s our 57th wedding anniversary today .
and we are setting off this morning for 3 nights in eden nsw i think it has more to offer than the one in genesis.. with a bit { or a lot } of luck we will make our fortune .
have a good day everybody.
Congrats to you both!
that looks like Wonderful to me.
we have had another shooting.
many are blaming trump and the republicans and the nra.. is it because of guns that there are so many massacres or could it be that these killers are mental?.
do you think guns should be removed from our society so that these atrocities never occur again?
Started to laugh then started to wonder...
i really do have to get to work, but i needed to tell you that i had an early-morning appointment, which i was late for.
i woke up past my due time.
without really thinking through my dire straits, i hired eddie murphy to drive me there.
That about Steinbeck -whether he was blue or just bewildered by his fame-reminds me of an interview with the old frontiersman Daniel Boone near the end of his life.
He lived long and traversed woodland and prairies from Pennsylvania (?) to Missouri. Unmapped territory,he was often alone. So he was asked by an admirer “Did it ever happen that you got lost!” Some thought and he answered “Never got lost. But onced l was bewildered for about two weeks...”
l appreciated that story so much when l read it. That perspective has kept me from being downhearted about life many many times.
