The draw to the average dub is the implied "spirituality" of bethel.
Most dubs begrudge going to work where they are forced to rub elbows with those wicked "worldly" people. At bethel they get to see their utopia, spiritual contact, 24/7. They view bethel as the closest thing to paradise on earth.
When I was still trying to be supportive of my wife's witness efforts I suggested going to the Canadian bethel when we visited Ontario. She frowned and asked why. I was rather confused, it was every dub's dream to go see bethel so I asked her why she didn't want to go.
"Growing up, only the losers went to bethel. Why would I want to go see them?"
She may be a dub, but I love her.

my field trip to Bethel
by themonster123 ina few years ago, when i was an active witness, i went all the way from california to the east coast for vacation to visit my witness friend.
her family took me to bethel (one of the many things we did)...seriously, what was the big deal i've been hearing about my whole life how ," oh bethel is so great!
" when i finally saw it when i was 18, it was like walking through a building with a bunch of walls with pictures of paradise on the walls and watching random people do printing press stuff.

The prison population in the USA is disproportionately black. Could we then state that it would be safer for people in general if we just treated all black people like criminals?
Why is it repulsive to consider racism as a cure to crime but not sexism as a cure to child molesting? -

90% of all all teachers from grades JK to 3 are women. Men are accused or afraid of an accusation ruining their career that most will avoid these grades completely.
Big Brother programs are critically under supported due to the image that the only grown men that would spend time with young boys are perverts.
Boy scout programs are suffering in the same way
So are sports coaches
So the question comes up, is the hysteria warranted? Do you even see it as a problem? -

then i bought a living bible and found even the most difficult parts easy to read.
but i still couldnt find time.

About 5 times, one of those times I actually stuck through the Chronoicles. Once was enough for that, and I skipped large portions of it on subsequent readings. In reading it I came up with alot of questions and many weren't answered, but I was taught to just forget the questions and move on.

I did an overview of the site and it looks like it promotes white on white racism. While tauting a noble ideal, it's just rebundled racism.
Defeating racism involves stopping seeing people in colors, regardless of your intention. If you say "I don't treat black people any different than white" is still a racist remark. Racism will be gone when people stop noticing ethnicity and just treat each other like people. -

Is it possible to be declined credit for having credit that is too good?
by Elsewhere inthe other day i was making substantial purchase and wanted to take advantage of the advertised "12 months no interest" deal.
i have excellent credit, however my application was denied.
the girl at the checkout couldn't tell me why, only that it was denied.

Usually companies report their credit stats every 30 days.
If you religiously pay off your cards before they are due, then the submitted balance will always be zero. This will only show that you "have credit" it gives no indication to how you pay off long term debt.
If you have a mortgage, student loan or car loan of some sort, it gives a history of consistently making payments over a period of time. This is a key consideration when considering your credit score. -

This is shameful. Discos have been proven to be breeding grounds for illicit activities and bad association. A trained conscience would not permit a Christian to have any part of discos. In fact, the Governing Body feels that Satan is using discos to turn our youths away, knowing that his time is almost up...
