  the qualifying round just started and massa is looking likely to qualify for pole position.

  however, i've put my money on rakinnon, alonso, and hamilton instead.

  one of those guys win i will break even or even make a profit!

  when i look back at the last 10 years of my life it's amazing the different changes that has taken place mentally.

  10 years ago i was very much a jw, but struggling as a late teen, trying to balance my youthful desire to have a good time with my desire to please god.

  it was a tough battle, sometimes god won, other times he didn't, but when it was all said and done i thought god and i were cool with each other.. then i became a husband and a father, trying to keep up with the extra responsibilities that were upon me.

  It is quite interesting to see how our mind works and I could not agree more with your sentence:

  I strongly recommend the reading of the book "why we believe what we believe".

  did not the witnesses at one time or over a period of time in their publications write articles that referred to the build up of nations in armaments etc that could lead to war.

  any information on this or just where i can find it in the reprints would be greatly appreciated.

  The WTBTS claims the years before 1914 were quiet and war came unexpected:

  German newsmagazine Der Spiegel reports that prior to 1914, people "believed in a golden future with more freedom, progress, and prosperity." Then everything changed. "The war that began in August 1914 and came to an end in November 1918 was a dramatic event. It made a historic break, separating the old from the new," states the magazine GEO.

  as you all know by now i am a jw backer, and in the first week on here i have gone back and forth with people.

  alot of people on here have a problem with all the rules.

  in my opinion i dont think they were too hard to follow and most of it was stuff that you shouldnt be doing anyways.

  Anyone seen a Memorial talk outline?

  if i remember correctly, someone last year posted the memorial talk outline a week or so before the memorial.. does anyone have access to this year's outline?

  .

  i'm curious because of the new wt article that basically backs away from teaching that the 144,000 were all chosen by 1935. i'd like to see how it is mentioned in this year's talk because, as we all know, the memorial talk is more about the anointed and how they alone partake than it is about jesus..

  ask any jw about the flip-flops in doctrine, and within a few moments, you'll be hearing about proverbs 4:18, the one about the "path getting brighter".

  i.e., "our understanding has increased, so we had to make an adjustment.".

  i was just thinking about the last major changes in jw doctrine over the past dozen years or so...does this sound like light getting "brighter"?.

  For most sincere witnesses they have their eyes shut, they enjoy it and truly like it like that.

  I found for the majority ignorance is a blessing and they would not have it any other way.

  put new light in questions from readers...... watchtower may 1, 07.....questions from readers... when does the calling of christians to heavenly hope cease?.....this article does with away with the harvesting of the 144,ooo ending in 1935 that the society has more than insinuated for years.

  now they have left it open ended, same as a generation.

  seem to confirm that the WT did indeed hold back the May 1 WT until after the memorial.

  it was received before the memorial (in UK several weeks before). I don't know how many read it (I have not heard one single comment on it), I honestly do not know how many JW read mags from cover to cover.

  Wasn't there suppose to be some special announcement made at the memorial this year? If so, does anyone know what it was?

  the only announcement was the standard one for new ones to ask for a home bible study, etc... anyone has some feedback regarding attendance? in our circuit it was +1 person from last year, so the campaign with invitations was a flop.
