The ones at the congo I used to go to were a very tight lot though they would at times give a small gift to a very interested person as part of the love bombing tactic. Their org the WT$ corporation is not giving the good example and they are imitating them.

I was a generous JW. I gave a lot to those in need in the congregation. I was stingy though for the Watchtower.
Most JW's preferfed giving to the Watchtower instead.
