Do you believe in Angels?

do you believe in the existence of angels?

what about demons?

do you believe in the biblical heirarchy of seraphs, cherubs etc?

Yes, I believe angels exist, the fallen ones are among us and soon will have greater liberty for their judgment by the Church. They will cause havoc in the world. I do not believe that men will turn into angels. The 144,000 and the Great Multitude will become spirit beings of a higher order than angels. The Seraphs are spirit beings but the cherubim are not. There is an order among spirit beings of rank and authority. There is much more of the unseen Universe than of visible things.

ok, here's a hypothetical that i'm curious about.. what if armageddon really did happen?

not necessarily according to jw terms or timetable, but at some point it happens in your lifetime.

would any of you return to the jws?.

Why don't you people look the word "Armageddon" up in Strong's. It's real meaning is the attitude of the nations which brought on WWl and continues in the world today. We have been in Armageddon since 1914. It's a long period of time, a condition NOT a location. The big fight of Ezekiel 38,39 is at Jerusalem not Megiddo. Apocalypse means revealment or revelation, that's all. The word is being misused by many.

That is Armageddon.

i've been taught as a j.w.

that the "new heavens" is made up of 144,000 annointed christians and the "new earth" are those that will inhabit the earth in a paradise.

i've noticed a sundry of differing minds on this site and i would appreciate any different takes on this scripture found at isaiah and 2 peter thanks still nothing.

Revelation 21:1- "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."

Remember the first world passed away in a great flood- deluge of water but; the earth is still here.

The Bible states that the earth is here forever. (Ecclesiastes 1:4, Psalm 78:69, 104:5, Isaiah 45:18 says; formed it to be inhabitated. The planet is always going to be here.

Thus the scriptures you refer to are using symbolic language.

Earth is the society of mankind.

Heaven is the higher powers unseen to man. Satan and his angels.

Sea is the irreligious element of society. The sea class.

A new heaven under Christ and the 144,000 and the Great Multitude.

A new earth or society of righteousness.

But a sea class no longer exists.

When a verse seems unreal consider the symbolic application in interpretation.

Mary and virginity

last night i heard for the first time that other religions teach that mary was always a virgin and that she never had any more children.

please explain how jw's arrive to say she did have more children.

i am so lost because i haven't been to a meeting in a hundred years.

Mary was a virgin when Jesus was born. That seems clear enough.

Did Mary have other children? Some say YES!

Others say NO!

Best for you to study it and make up your own mind!

I believe Mary had several children, Jesus being the first one.

Holy Spirit

is the holy spirit really a force or a person?.

if so why then the bible describes the holy spirit as a person who posseses intellect, emotions, and will?

he performs things that can be only performed by a person.

The Holy Spirit is the Righteous Mind of Jehovah in operation toward humanity. It is not a person. It is the greatest force in th Universe.

In the early Church it was active and provided certain gifts to Christians in order to attract interest in the Gospel. It went to the apostles on Penetecost of 33AD and was distributed by them to others. When they and these others died the gifts were no longer available. We had the written word by then, it being the work of the Spirit. Don't expect supernatural help from God; if you get any; it will be from the "fallen angels". Don't even talk to them. Except to order them oput of your life by the name of Jesus.

if i understood right, salvation in heaven is limited to 144, 000 "anointed onces".. how could i be sure that i am in this number?.

if not how can i be saved and go to heaven?

The 144,000 receive Divine life, the highest form of life.. But many people run the race and are left out of the 144,000. What happens to them? They are rewarded with spirit life on a lesser plane of existence as part of the Great Multitude. (Revelation 7:9)

You have to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that he sacrificed his life as the payment of the required ransom price so Adam could get out of the prison house of death. That God raised him to life on the third day as a great spirit being in God's own image.

Then you consecrate your "ALL" unto God and tell him you will do his will unto your death. If you are accepted, God will beget you to the spirit nature. From then on you live as a New Creature in Christ; not the "old man" you have been.

Your "ALL" is the life right you have in Christ's Kingdom as a human being, which Jesus paid for already.

Count the cost; you have a life right on earth to give up; are you sure you want to do this?

1874 a date the Lord chose?

this interesting statement was made on a bible student forum and sent to me by one of my friends.

i have copied it the same way he sent it to me.

here a bs is explaining how the lord himself chose the date 1874 as his "invisible return".

Later, the learned Pastor Russell taught that Jesus really came in 1874, but the "real end" would be 1914. All based on solid bible chronology.

There are 45 chronological links in the Bible which Pastor Russell used to figure his dates. Plus one secular reference from Ptolemy's Canon; which brings chronology down to AD1. Then the 1874 years to finish the 6,000 years from Adam being evicted from the Garden.

The Great Pyramid was there before we had the Bible and measurements taken in it substantiate the chronology that Russell gave.

You are showing your ignorance of truth. Why not study these things before you make wild statements?
