how many of you guys really believed and took to heart every word that was written in it?
i was recently rereading it and it was ridiculous how sophomoric and unrealistic some of the answers to the questions were (e.g.
when you have the urge to engage in the "sin" of masterbation you should pray to god untill the urge goes away.

below is an excerpt from the branch letter to all congregations.. 'thus, although they investigate every allegation, the elders in not authorized by the scriptures to take congregational action unless there is a confession or there are two credible witnesses'.
it reaffirms the two witness policy.no surprise there...... but why does it say 'credible'?
witnesses are witnesses are they not?
It makes you wonder if "Credible" is meant to exclude any children who could be witnesses to the crime? If I'm not mistaken, when I took a criminal justice class the first time i was in college, the prof said the most likely candidate to witness the molestation of a child is another child.
just my .02 cents

i think when people leave the organization, they lump it all together- jehovah- religion, organization, etc.
i am not doubtful there is a god, but just doubtful that he used the wts to be his one & only means.
just wanted to say that.
Logical: I knid of agree with you here on the invention of "Jehovah"...but I really like to know what motivated the Isrealites on this one...

Isn't funny? When good things come/goes somebody's way, they often say it was b/c of God's (good) graces or b/c God was blessing them. but when it's bad things, it's b/c God wanted it that way...or b/c the person saw themself as a sinner....
Wake up, it ain't like that...not by a long shot. Thats just somebody not wanting to believe it's luck/coincidence
here are the notes for the sunday morning session of the zealous kingdom proclaimers district convention, the "fine spiritual food" that jw's are fed .
sunday.
a people zealous for fine works- tit.
Shouldn't the convention be called:
"Jealous Kingdom Proclaimers"?
I remember seeing sisters who'd get jealous of some rich sister with the nice threads on...or something...gossipy..

Hey, italianmomma:
It was just a joke...don't take it too seriously.
Hmm, very good, Spaz...I don't normally like poetry, but this one kept me reading to the end.
but for some reason, i kept picturing the ride of the four horsemen as I was reading this poem. Don't know why, or maybe it was b/c I'm in a gloomy, pissed off mood today...and it's getting hot outside in guangzhou today and I don't think it's gonna rain anytime soon today.

is it just me or..... 1. do the vast majority of the "good" females in the jw publications look like they stepped out of the martha stewart-wannabe/betty crocker/beaver's mom mold?
and the bad "girls" look like some cheesy bad girl from a chessy 80s movie?.
2. did i see a lack of interracial couples/families in the jw pubs?
Marilyn: Hmm, I have really seen thos eposters...believe it or not...
I'm in guangzhou (Cantonese land)...but I'm about to jump back to america on the 19th...
ok, now that i have your attention................................... it seems like most of the witnesses i know, and who have posted here, say their parents kept them in the dark about sex.
do you agree?
my parents never discussed it at all- in fact- if they did- or saw a love scene on tv- my mom would always say "thats disgusting' (yeah, right mom) .
Let me add to the Mandy R--- story: I hadn't noticed that my pants were making a "teepee" when my mom smashed the Kingdom Melodies (wasn't what the brown "songbook" was called?) on my lap.

And it's Jehovah who has proven that he's homicidal.
And wishy-washy too. Back in college, after I left the dubs, I took a "Bible as Literature"..had to use a bible other than the JWs'...it was a long time ago, but I seem to remember that somewhere in Kings and Chronicals (Can't remember which book -- 1 or 2)there were two conflicting views of when King David had the census. In one book it says he was told by Jehovah's spirit to do it and he gets punished for it. In the other version, Satan gets his kicks and gets the ball rolling...(can somebody more knowledgable help me out on this one? I don't have a Bible here in China with me.)
So, now, tell me why i shouldn't bash the almighty Jehovah...he's worse than the dubs, in my book.
