The "mini-god" Elder syndrome...
by dustrabbit inprofessor: since you stated in another thread that your dad sees himself as a "mini-god", it got me wondering.
does jehovah, if he actually exists, views the gb/the elders and other religious leaders along with jesus as "mini-me"s, as in the "austin powers" characters?.

Male and Female Friends

he says that men cannot be friends with women.
he says that any man that appears to want to be friends with a woman really just wants to get in her pants, and if they end up friends it's purely by accident.

Before I got married, I had a great number of female friends, alomst as many as my male friends. Never did have sex with any one of them, and I'd be a liar if I said it never crossed my mind. But I don't think I would've gone through with it, I don't really want to screw up a good friendship.
However, after I got married, my wife's demeanor just scared off all my female friends who were around my age. The only ones left were those who were around my mother's age. I guess my wife thought I wouldn't sleep with some my mother's age.
But I don't think having friends of the opposite sex will determine you having an affair. Affairs happen when when one partner is just a sex addict (male or female), doesn't give a hoto about their partner's feelings, or they feel there's something lacking in the marriage. I'm not saying this is right, but just what i think is what happens. I've never had an affair, so I can't qualify as an expert on this.

What's the worst thing the JWs/WTS could do now?
by dustrabbit inthis isn't really a joke, but i do wonder if the jws could anything worse than they already have.
i don't think/suspect that the dubs would go off and do a mass-killing/suicide of themselves, a la jonestown or waco.
but you do have to wonder now that the pedophile and the un/wts-connection scandals have came to "light", so to speak, what else is brewing in the underbelly of the society?.

Today, some of my adult students saw that photo of me -- the one I use here on the board. They said I looked like Henry Potter. Go figure.
Well, I should be flying out of Guangzhou on the 18th and spend the night in Hong Kong. Whoo Hoo! Then on the 19th, I fly out to Denver.
