I feel like when it comes down to that point, all they can do is "hold on to the life they have always known". It would be too scary to face reality at that point and realize what they have accomplished in their lives is just slaving for a cult. How very sad that this is happening.

So what will they do now.....?
by Gill in2014, a hundred years since christ's supposed invisible presence began, has come and gone.
it is now 2018.. you are now 75 years old and the world is packed with free information.
you can find out anything you want to, and infact, you have to use the internet every day just to shop and bank and a lot of the things you need to do.

I think you did such a great job also, as a loving, caring husband. Yoiu are showing her that you are a great man, not just because Jehovah makes you be one. I feel that you are well on your way with helping her to see the way it really is.
My only advise would be not to be wishy washy now that you have come this far. Prove that you have no doubts about your decisions.
Thanks for sharing.....I can't wait to get to know HER someday!!

by restrangled ini'm worried because i sent a christmas card plus had a gift sent by ups over the internet about 7 days ago and haven't heard anything.

Living with family who believe that you deserve to die
by jambon1 ini always had a problem with the idea that everyone except jw`s deserves to die at armageddon.
i used to think; "what about all the really nice people?
mrs so and so, my magazine call.

That is the biggest thing that P*sses me off. They think they are so much better than you are no matter what they are "really" like...and they usually like to throw it in your face that you are going to DIE!!!!
I guess I don't deal with it too well....LOL

What words of comfort can you give to an ex-witness who is very depressed?
by Warlock inthere is someone who posts on this board who is very depressed.
life can throw you curves and it can be hard enough without the excess baggage of having been a witness.. can you please help her with some kind words?.
warlock.

I wanted to reply to this because I know how it feels to go through many ups and downs in life. I try to think positive when I am in a down time, because eventually things do seem to go back up.....and the ups are real nice.
I also know from experience that there are some kinds of depression that you can't get yourself out of without help from a professional. I am currently on Zoloft....which I took to escape from post partum depression. I also went to therapy for things dealing with my feelings from my past in an abusive home and leaving the JW's.
If you are able, try to remember the good things in life....weather it be a day, a moment, or just a second in time. Do things that make you smile....like petting a puppy in a pet store, or looking at funny videos on you-tube. ( I looked up babies laughing and it got me out of a funky day)
I hope you get to feeling better and I am sorry you have had more than your share of crap to deal with. Many hugs to you!

DOES ANYONE STILL NOT CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS???
by chuckyy injust wondering if anyone still does not celebrate xmas since leaving jws.....or like me do you think"to hell with it", and join in the festivities.
if you do celebrate it, do you still have pangs of guilt for celebrating this "pagan" festival???.
chukky.

We do it, but it is more about being around family than anything else. We are going to Ohio to visit my aunt and lots of family will be coming around. I will have my 8 yr old JW daughter there....so we have already planned that if anyone is "opening presents" we'll go watch a movie or something. I guess that is the part of it all that seems like the "celebrating" part. I think of the celebrating being more of cooking together and being off work, playing in the snow and drinking hot chocolate.....Mmmmmm, Can't wait!
And, the guilt is gone!

What XMas Present Would You Like This Year???
by minimus inone thing that jws do, whether they were "strong in the truth" or not is accept presents.
even if they don't "celebrate" thanksgiving, they'd still take the turkey from the employer.
if someone sent out a birthday gift or christmas present, a witness would still take but never givein return.
