Hambeaks Extremely Heartbreaking News
by Sparkplug inour friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.
the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.
he was in a car accident.

I am so extremely sorry. I don't understand why he has had so much trauma in a short time. It is truely so unfair and he is in my thoughts and prayers.
I am in Texas too, and if he needs something...please, let me know Decki....OK? Lyndi

What's The Difference Between A Normal Person & A Jehovah's Witness???
by minimus inthere are many differences between a "worldly" person aka "normal" and a jw.
for example, a jw is horrified by christmas lights.
it's the work of the devil!

Most people enjoy diversity in thinking..
Jw's mostly only feel comfortable with people who think the exact same way.
Most people don't tattle to anyone about other people's business...
Jw's feel the need to tattle to the elders if they know something about someone.

Wow...another great post.
Welcome to the boards! I never get tired of all the great information I find here. It is sick that the Watchtower has tricked so many...and are truely some of the worst false prophets out there.

Does God expect the true religion to 100% right on everything?
by moshe injust what is the cutoff for being approved or disapproved by god?
i can't seem to find that number in the bible, can you?.
i was looking at the jw tract they just distributed about, "the end of false religion is near", and i think that jw's have it all wrong, as usual.

I thouroughly enjoy the way you reason on things Moshe. You are truely an asset to us apostates!! Too bad JW's can't reach into their minds to reason like that.

Revelation 20 and Satan's plan of action after his release
by Clam inas a jw i always had a fascination for revelation 20, particularly the incarceration and release of satan after the 1000 years.
as a youngster i imagined him locked up but on display, rather like hannibal lechter.
i can't remember what the watchtower spin was on this, but i assumed that this was all to do with god showing that mankind is still wicked, even without satan around, ie sin will still be here without satan?.

My mind doesn't go as deep as yours does as far as understanding the "true meaning" behind those scriptures....but, as a youngster in the "truth" I was worried about having survivied the big A....and the having to die because I fall for Satan after his release. In my young mind, he would get me to slip up with something like making out with a Brad Pitt look alike....or willfully disobeying my parents in the new world (Going on a fantastic Elephant riding expidition while I was supposed to be grooming my very own pet lion.) I knew Satan would be very trickey as to his schemes....and since he knows each of our weaknesses, that is what he would focus on for each of us.
The result (which I feel is the society's purpose for teaching about this) is I felt I had to work HARD at being nearly "perfect" in this system...as practice. I was one that believed it all....and it would pain me with guilt when I even swore. (I would PRAY for hours...throwing my young childhood burdens on Jehovah)

Welcome luv.....I am so sorry that you had to deal with all that abuse growing up, and then pretty much are still emotionally being abused by having to pay a price for living a real life. It is such a horrible, unloving, hypocritical religion.
I am glad that you are out and hopefully happy. This board has been helping me for a few months now, and I feel stronger and stronger. Glad to have you.
