i have been in a world of pain this weekend.. some of you know the ongoing battle i have had with my ex wife, an uber dub hypocrite, over seeing my kids more.
3 weeks ago i managed to secure an agreement from her that provided my 13 yr old daughter friday night to sunday afternoons and for my 16 yr old son to have friday night to sat afternoon with the option to extend it to sunday if he so desires.
this is each second weekend.. first due weekend visit she rearranged the days so that she was technically pre agreement start date.
I see nothing YOU DID as being hurtful, Aussie. As far as I can see, you did a wonderful thing! Not only in sticking to the legal agreement which benefits you and your children, you did something else: You showed them BY EXAMPLE to stand up to guilt and oppression, and you taught them that they DO have options, even when they think they do not.

i really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.
i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.
i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

"Gutted" is a very appropriate name for the way you're feeling now... I remember that feeling. You won't always feel that way.
You just have to trust us on this. It gets much, much better, and everything gets much, much easier. Don't panic. Give yourself a lot of attention, and a lot of room to grow (and question!)
You will realize that the pain of being lied to dissapates, and you'll soon be okay with not having all the answers. You'll just revel in the wonder and possibility of questions alone.

i can see a few reasons that some might do this - though it is not palatable for most people.
if you wanted to get inside someone's mind and try to motivate them this might make sense.

it has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.

in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

....my final jw relationship.. i did it.
i killed the relationship.. my cousin rick and i had been inseparable as jw's.
rick is five years my junior, and in many ways i tried to look out for him like a little brother when we were younger.. i have wrestled with an on again/ off again attempt to stay in touch with rick since i left jw's.
I love you, Jeff. You are more to me than words on a public forum. You are a damned fine, perceptive, intelligent, compassionate man.
I hope we can sit and talk in the "real life" someday.
