well.......
Yeah, it's pretty danged hot under the collar. My suggestion is to create a lovely little ritual for yourself and BURN this letter... and write another one.
It's not that you aren't justified in writing it or feeling that way, you are. I'm just thinking that by knee-jerking this way, you just add fuel to their fire. I just keep hoping that everyone still in could have the opportunity to see the TRUTH about the "(T)ruth", and reading this letter is just going to make her dig her roots in deeper. Just try to see it from her side. She really IS concerned about your daughter... yeah, it's creepy... but she really does believe that she is saving her life. *shudder*
Just my 2.5 cents.

What were you praying about before you left the JWs?
by MegaDude ini was earnestly praying to serve jehovah and give him my all.. in short order i found i was heading toward the unthinkable.
i was on my way out of the watchtower and the only life i had ever known.
pretty ironic.

I was praying more ardently than I ever have before or since.
I was asking "Jehovah" if this was indeed, his organization, if shunning was right, for him to please, please show me HOW it was right... and asking him if he was as sickened by it as I was. I wanted a sign to stay.
Yes. Ironic, indeed.

I got my "end of false religion" tract
by Junction-Guy inone of my friends at work brought me the tract, she said they left it at her door.
i was so excited to finally read it for myself, i was grinning ear to ear when she handed it to me.. after reading it over i did find one inconsistency---- if you look on the back there is an advertisement for the "pay attention" brochure.
if you look closely at the 2 african women in the pic above, well those women are reading this brochure, if you look close enough you will see it is the same "pay attention" brochure, however there is one minor difference in details.

Hooray, a Wanderer question!
I love Wanderer's posts, I love Under-Believer's avatar (Agent Smith rocks), and in a way, I even love (and certainly try to be completely respectful of) apologists.
If I see a new poster on the board, EVEN IF THE STORY MIGHT SOUND A BIT FISHY (after all, fact is stranger than fiction) I generally try to encourage them to stay long enough to peruse the pages.
Granted, a lot of them might be trolls, but you know what?- For one thing, the new posters are innocent until proven guilty, and for another thing...
- WE ALL BELIEVED IT WHOLE HEARTEDLY AT ONE POINT. The fact that they are here might mean that they had enough doubts to come looking for themselves... but at the very least, if they stay here a while, they just might learn something.
Cheers!

The old "H2O" archives
by Junction-Guy ini would give anything to see the old h2o archives from december 1997-feb1998, this was the time period that i came online for the first time and discovered the real truth about the so called "truth".
i believe i came to h20 either late december or early january.
i would love to find my old posts and see the frame of mind i was in back then.

Well, I don't really know what the actual web address to H20 was, but if you do, you can plug it in and see what you get here, in the "wayback machine":
http://www.archive.org/web/web.php
You probably won't be able to search specific posts if the site is down, but goodluck and godspeed.

Does anybody feel like if not for the Internet we could have still been in
by ladione5000 inthe dark?
walking around knocking on peoples doors and telling them they are going to die if they do not follow our beliefs?.
i for one feel like this is the new world, and there is just no stopping this super highway we call the internet... it is like a whole new world, we can now talk and meet people around the world.

Not me, Baby, I'm a "pre-Google exit". I was out for almost twenty years before I found this site... and even then I wasn't looking... it popped up as a search result to something completely non-JW related.
Oh, but it is such a powerful force... and I hope it continues to pluck precious fruits from the WT tree...

There is no such thing as Agnosticism. Agnostics do not exist!
by nicolaou inmany here seem to believe that the position of agnosticism is somehow more reasonable than theism or atheism.
nonsense!
it is a misconception to believe that belief or non-belief in the existence of god/s are the two extremes which glare at each other over the fence of agnosticism.
